Puerto Morelos is a hidden gem! Very clean, quaint and relaxed! The beach area is pristine and the water is exactly that Caribbean azure blue green! There's lots going on but it doesn't seem busy. Very chill - happy vibes! Gorgeous sunshine and a warm breeze! Tons of choice for food and drink, tours, and necessities. Pretty perfect!

Lovely little village with some local character, where there are some local people, not just tourists. Perfect location for everything: snorkelling, the airport, cenotes, local attractions, and yet much more relaxed and low key than most other places on the coast.

This ""Deluxe Double Ocean View" room was awful.
This ""Deluxe Double Ocean View" room was awful. NO furniture except for the bed and ONE wooden chair. We had to put our luggage on the floor. NO closet or hangers. NO bottled water - which should be a given for any Mexican hotel. So glad we were only there for two nights and then could escape to our place in Akumal. We do love Puertos Morelos and the restaurant on-site at the hotel helped make up for our miserable stay.
LAST time we book with Booking.com.

Puerto Morelos is a quiet, laid back town that tries to provide both modern conveniences, while maintaining its ethnic culture. The restaurants were plentiful and the food was well prepared. If you are staying on the beach side, everything was within walking distance. (The bookstore was a pleasant surprise.) This is not a party town. Most of the visitors are middle aged and hail from the USA and Canada. For us, this was the perfect place to relax.

I know people who travel far distances to go to Cabo, Costa Rica, the Caribbean islands, etc that haven't been to Puerto Morelos. Puerto Morelos is a short flight from the US and has excellent resorts, beautiful ocean views, and plenty of water and land activities to choose from. Puerto Morelos also offers several options on the types of resorts that suit your lifestyle, Resorts for families, for adults only, adults only that are top optional, and even couples only resorts that are clothes optional. We've traveled far distances to other resort destinations and sure, each location has it's unique qualities. But Puerto Morelos unique qualities and is only 30 minutes from Cancun International Airport, which offers many direct flights from US and other international cities.

Puerto Morelos used to be a quiet little fishing village.
Puerto Morelos used to be a quiet little fishing village. We used to love to spend our winters there. It is a mess right now. They are building some huge condominium buildings and the construction noise and traffic are horrible! The buildings are just getting bigger and bigger....and huge, tall eye sores!!! Taxi's drive like crazy people....and the town has definitely lost it's quaint, quiet beauty. It's to bad that the people who are making the development decisions in Puerto Morelos have such poor judgement, because this once beautiful little fishing village is being destroyed!!! It's very sad to see Puerto Morelos being destroyed! We couldn't be more disappointed by the destruction of this amazing place!
What a friendly place! We were in Puerto Morelos staying with family but stayed one night at Casa Velero to be near the beach on New Years' Eve. We loved the palapa overlooking the ocean and the location was easily accessible to the beach and great restaurants. They were kind enough to let us leave our bags before check in. The other guests were friendly and the palapa was a fun gathering space to meet new people. It was nice to have a small fridge, sink, and hot plate had we wanted to do cooking. We would definitely return!
It is a nice small hotel, very quiet. We really liked our stay there.
The location is great, 30 min drive from Cancun. Puerto Morelos, a small town nearby, is very nice to walk around in the evening. It has a nice artesian market, many restraurants, nice promenade along the sea.
The staff at the hotel was very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable.
We would like to come back to this place.
Highly recommended for a quiet stay
.
The location is perfect, it is out of the way of the main area's of Puerto Morelos so very chill. Turtles laying eggs on the beach every night while I was there. The room is right on the beach. The kitchen and rooms were always kept clean and tidy. Sebastian the caretaker is always there to help with anything, he really is an awesome guy who always has a smile on his face. I would highly recommend these rooms for both short and long term stays.
We found Puerto Morelos to be a pleasant first stop on our Yucatan Peninsula journey, and our stay at Yax Kiin was an integral part of our sense of the town. A short walk from the beach, the hotel offered easy access to tasty restaurants & a morning run around town. Should we make a return trip to Quintana Roo, we would likely stay longer in Puerto Morelos, since it avoids the hustle & bustle of Cancun & Playa del Carmen.
Very charming little B&B right on the beach, like 10 meters away from it.
Excellent Mexican breakfast, good, strong coffee, with comfortable public parking right in front, on the street.
The place has obviously been built with lots of love and taste, and the owners and staff are very warm, welcoming and helpful.
From my balcony I had a lovely sea view. Next time I’ll stay longer.
Nice , clean, friendly hotel , 3 minute walk from Puerto Morelos centre and 5 minutes to the beach. Fabtastic roof top pool which my 10 yr old son loved! great views . Helpful staff , reception helped me charge my phone and the great housekeepers tidied up all our mess in the room, including folding our clothes, Thanks, nice small hotel and lovely town. Tasty pizzas below too!
The location of this condo/hotel was fantastic. It was right on the beach and my room had a fantastic ocean view. I loved that this place was walking distance to the downtown area and that there were lots of options for food and shopping. The room was huge and there was a lot of space. I loved everything about this location and hotel.
Great location on the beach with fun beach club. Although this hotel could use some updating our room appeared to have a renovated bathroom . Everything functioned well. We only had one hanger for our clothes and when I asked for more was told No, No. Our room was nice and clean but the lobby washroom was not.
Right on the beach. Went to see the sunrise. We only stayed one night but it was just what we needed. The bed was comfortable. Ac was cold. As soon as you walk out of the front of the hotel property there's a little street with many businesses (food, drinks etc) all walking distance.
Hotel El Moro is our favorite stop in Puerto Morelos. We have stayed many times and in many rooms. Each of them are unique, cozy, and comfortable. The breakfasts are excellent, the staff exceptionally helpful, and the location is just a few steps from the beach.
Staff were excellent & helpful. Great atmosphere around the pool every day. The beach was beautiful. Good selection of restaurants however the portion sizes were a little small. The food trucks were my favorite meal choice of the hotel, amazing burgers!!
It is a small but very comfortable hotel. The rooms are very large, spacious and each room has a beautiful sea view. The beds are also very big and comfortable… Even though the employees don't speak much English, they try to help.
Great location one block from beach and main square. Staff from the hotel and restaurant were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms were good! The roof terrace provides spectacular views and a small pool to cool off.
Swimming pool on the top flor was very nice and clean, water was cold, but very refreshing. The staff was very helpfull. The room and bathroom was clean and nice and quiet. There is a nice small parking space by the hotel.
- Very nice place and helpful and nice staff
- Friendly and good Restaurant beneath of the Hotel
- Covit test station within the Hotel complex.
- Streight on the beach with balcony over the ocean!
Great location, super cozy hotel if you are looking for a quiet jungle experience. The private cenote is small but amazing! Open 24h. The pool is awesome (both of them).
The location is fantastic. Right on the beach and access to beach chairs is perfect. Price is right. And easy street parking right outside hotel was convenient.
fantastic little hotel, on the beach on the quiet north end of Puerto Morelos. quiet, simple and sweet. great people and fun bar on the beach! we will be back!
