Merida is a historic small city/big village with several local entities and several upscale newer businesses too. Old buses and new buses. Very friendly and safe. People walk about the streets are pretty much all hours. It was fun. Energetic.

Merida is a big, historic, busy city surrounded by Mayan ruins, historic haciendas and beautiful cenotes. The Merida restaurant scene has everything from chef owned culinary gems to family run taco shops. There are many excellent tour guides available for in-depth exploration of the city and surroundings or one can do so on their own using public transportation or with a rental car.

It depends on what you are looking for. There is great colonial architecture, nice museums, and great food. Parts of the city need renovation and a paint job. Very safe downtown area with obvious police presence.

They advertise free parking, they have only 4 or 5 spots for the hotel guests, first night we had no spot available. Breakfast is based on 2 eggs( waffles are on the menu, but not available) , and limited number of tables and chairs, one morning we waited for 30 min to get the table. Some tables are not under the roof, if rains it will be even worse.
We found the room clean, shower drain clogged, two bed lights broken. They fixed it the same day. Staff does not speak english at all, Spanish required. We left one day early. No refund. ( which we did not expect, just to mention). To see Merida one night stay is more than enough.
Our stay at Mansion Merida was amazing, and we loved every minute of it. Raul, the owner, Noe, the manager, Abraham, the bartender were all so friendly, helpful and welcoming. This property is beautifully decorated, the gardens and pool inviting, our breakfast exceptional and the bar a lot of fun. The location is perfect for walking around Centro, shopping, restaurants and all the historical sites. We hope to return soon to this very special boutique hotel. Thank you!
We absolutely loved our stay here and it was by far the best place we stayed in Mexico. The interior is beautiful and having a pool was such a great perk! The hotel is located centrally with lots of great restaurants nearby and we could easily walk everywhere we wanted to go.
The owners Judy and Danny are brilliant and they made us feel at home. They gave us lots of great recommendations, helped us book a visit to the ruins, and the breakfast was 10/10!!
The room was absolutely beautiful, overlooking the nice swimming pool area. The staff was super helpful and always very friendly, very quiet hotel, beautiful building - the best place we stayed for a while!
We only planned to stay 1 night in Merida, but stayed a couple more to enjoy the peace and quiet after a month of travelling through Mexico.
Thanks again to the staff for making us feel right at home!
Kind regards,
Dax & Chloë

Ananda and Jose are great hosts - we were welcomed and check in was easy. The location is fabulous, being walking distance to downtown and very close to the airport. It provided a tranquil retrieve from the outside world. The room was clean and comfortable and absolutely perfect for our needs. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Merida!
Small Mexican boutique hotel, walkable to everything in downtown Merida. A welcome contrast to cookie cutter chain hotels. Super charming and helpful reception staff. Nice rooms with private balconies and a hammock, although in one case the hammock was actually inside the room! Good breakfast included, and free parking next to the hotel.
Everything!! From the amazing and helpful staff. Thanks Gibran for accomodating our late check in!! Clean, well kept and tranquil hostel in the perfect part of Centro. And a bonus of a great breakfast! Wish I could've stayed longer. My first time in Mexico. Merida will always be special and memorable, one of the reasons is Casa Garza..
I had the pleasure of staying at a remarkable hotel in Merida, Mexico, and I must say that the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The property itself was truly incredible - from the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a captivating blend of exquisite decoration and an ambiance that exuded both luxury and comfort
The room was amazing. It was a suite and very large. With a refrigerator and a coffee maker along with a table and chairs plus sofas. There was a lovely garden with 2 peacocks and a pool. Great way to cool off in hot Merida. Great value at this hotel.
Viva Mérida Boutique hotel exceeded my expectations! This charming hotel not only has a ton of character, but is also in a central location. The staff was always pleasant and ready to assist with any request. Do not hesitate to stay here!
We loved the stay in Mejorada hotel. The owner was really nice, you could see he loves his job. The pól was clean, the garden was amazing and the beds were the comfiest we had in Mexico. Really tasty breakfast included.
- valet parked our car in their car park
- the room was enormous
- it felt like a 5 star hotel but for an incredible value
- gym and pool were lovely
- food in the restaurant was the best we had across Mexico
The location and the price of this hotel was incredible. It's near the centre/everything you would need, the price is crazy for the quality of wifi/TV etc compared to many other hotels we stayed in, in Mexico.
Israel the guy on reception was very sweet and helpful. the building is beautiful with a lot of character. location is excellent. bedroom was big.
it’s relatively quiet for Mexico
Location for exploring Merida is perfect, pool area is lovely and breakfast was the best we’ve had throughout our time in Mexico. Staff were knowledgeable and really helpful.
The property is quiet and close to the bank and the malls. The lobby and rooms are inviting and have everything an AIRBNB would have. This is my favorite hotel in Merida.
Place is super cute and very homey. Family ran business by a French man who lives in Canada and now Mexico along with his wife. very very welcoming quite place.
