This is a modern city with all amenities.
This is a modern city with all amenities. Views along the waterfront are spectacular. We found a great place for coffee and breakfast in the old city and really enjoyed the rooftop bars and restaurants. It's very easy and inexpensive to get around with Uber or taxi. We found the rates with Uber to be very reasonable. Loved the seafood market whch is a collection of smaller eateries, and Casa Casco rooftop which offers panoramic city views. Do venture outside the city to see what else this diverse and vibrant country has to offer!

Panamá City is a wonderful mix of old and new, rich and poor. Wherever we went, especially in the Old Town we felt safe and welcomed. The churches, Spanish architecture, food, and wonderful celebrations should not be missed. The Miraflores Locks, including the IMAX movie is a must see. I would have never chosen Panama City as a place to visit if it had not been for a cruise we chose out of Colon, but, am so glad that we had this opportunity.

We stayed a week, which might have been a day too long.
We stayed a week, which might have been a day too long. Old Town was nice, but if going there try to avoid times when cruise ships arrive. Metropolitan Park and Ancon hill were both great. We visited Miraflores locks - took an Uber instead of a guided tour. It’s well worth doing, but before going be sure to check the times that shipping will pass that day. We had to wait around about 4 hours because we failed to do that! Loved the Cinta Contera great walks and views. Check out Mi Pueblito at the base of Ancon Hill- well worth the $3 fee which includes an English- speaking guide. Favorite restaurant - Lucca in El Congrejo. Upscale surroundings but not upscale prices, with excellent pizza. The rest of the menu looked great too. Murphys bar for happy hour drinks but I wouldn’t eat there again.

The biggest attraction in Panama (the canal) was a big let down. Depending on how you choose to go there, there is a possibility you may not see a ship moving through it. There are other attractions but a bit pricey in my opinion and most involves the Canal so there could be an overlap. If you live in the Caribbean, the usual tourist activities involving the sea may not be appealing. However the city is vibrant, modern and people are very nice. Transportation is easily accessible and very affordable. They have Uber there as well.
Apartment is in a decent location with a supermarket, pharmacy, several fast food joints and some restaurants within easy walking distance.
It's a large, comfortable property with a functional kitchen and laundry room which is very useful if you like to be independent and more self sufficient.
The owners/property managers respond quickly via WhatsApp to any questions.
As with most blocks and hotels in Panama City there are good facilities here, including a gym, pool and communal areas which also have WiFi.
This property has a great location! We were able to walk to many attractions and we could also take taxis to other locations. Our most expensive taxi was from the airport, which was $30.00. within Panama City, it ranged from $6.00 - $2.50.
Everything was clean in the hotel. All the employees were super friendly and helpful. You can set up tours of the city with Iván, just ask the front desk to make a reservation for you! There is a bar within the hotel and they have a Happy Hour everyday!
I stayed in this hotel for one night, which was the night I arrived in Panama from Scotland. I had no issues with the room, the staff or the facilities. The bathroom and shower were great, great temperature control in the shower. There was also a fridge and safe in the room. It is a great location for accessing Casco Viejo, plus it is pretty easy to get an Uber or taxi safely from Casco Viejo into Panama City.
We had an excellent night’s sleep following our 12 hour flight. Our spacious room was on a high floor with a sea view, which gave us fantastic views over the city to the sea. We enjoyed a sumptuous and plentiful buffet breakfast, with excellent fresh, cold, cooked and baked food choices. We experienced a very clean hotel, with attentive staff, in a great location for getting out and about in Panama city.
The location in Casco Antigo is excellent. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked well. Showers had nice water pressure although one evening there was no hot water. The staff were helpful in answering questions about practicalities of getting around in Panama City. We stayed at this hotel 3 times, using it as our base when we returned to Panama City from trips to the coast and Boquete.
We loved EVERYTHING about Amarla Boutique Hotel from checkin to checkout. The property itself is absolutely beautiful with the views on the rooftop to match it. The little touches throughout were an added bonus (checkin cocktails, cool towels). The staff are very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Panamá City.
I liked the location of the hotel in historical Casco Viejo, as we could walk out our door and be in the most fascinating part of Panama City. The hotel's restaurant is convenient and excellent. The room was spacious and recently renovated with a large fridge, excellent linens, coffee, wine glasses, comfortable beds and a well appointed bathroom. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Nice, clean and comfortable room with spacy and clean private bathroom. The part of our room was balcon with view on the city. There was good working air conditioning. At the hotel is big and nice terrace with jacuzzi and relaxation zone. There is also swimming pool and gym. I was very satisfied with this hotel and its locality in the center of the Panama City.
The location is very convenient. The hotel is quite lovely, with beautiful art and appointments. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The beds and linens allowed us to sleep like babies. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, with many healthy options. This is by far the most comfortable hotel was have stayed at in Panama City.
The hotel was conveniently located in the old town of Panama City/. we had a top floor private room with excellent views over the city.
The public rooms and kitchen were kept clear with a continual supply of excellent Panamanian coffee and offered a great place to relax and meet fellow travelers.
Location in Panama city with certain stores, restaurants, etc. within walking distance.
Breakfast and lunch in the hotel are good but overpriced in our opinion.
The view is great.
AM-PM is just across the street for a good cup of coffee and small breakfast items.
Go-to hotel in Panama for 8+ years. The breakfast is very good but expensive at $16.99 per person.I usually travel w/ 3-5 family members so it can get quite costly. Location is perfect;close to the highway, downtown Panama and Panama City attractions.
From the parking to the lobby to the swimming pool and the breakfast Wa have been well attended by the staff. The hotel is well located in a safe area. Stunning view of Panama City from our room. Heated pool is indeed a plus!
Lovely hotel at a good location in Panama City. Staff was very helpful with regard to bookings, trips and concierge service. Great value for money. Pool was nice, service at the pool for drinks and food was great.
This newish hotel in the downtown area of Panama City incorporates some interesting room design and decor. It worked well enough for our overnight stay. The bed and linens were extraordinarily good.
