We have been regulars in Port Douglas for the last twenty years the most consistent restaurants are as follows
1.Zinc
2. Salsa
3. Iron Bar
4. Gelato place called La Capenina
Most people are very friendly and accommodating and walking along 4 Mile beach is great however if you’re a family and want to see the reef don’t let the experience be soured by the expense as you do need a bit of money however

Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Snorkelling at the reef, strolling on the beaches and in the rainforest. Hartleys crocodile well worth a visit.
Lovely warm weather; easy to get around.
Roading up to Cape Tribulation still slow and some surface flooding due to heavy rainfall whilst we were there.

Location is amazing, just a short 15-20 minute car drive to the famous Mossman Gorge - DONT LEAVE PORT DOUGLAS WITHOUT GOING TO MOSSMAN GORGE - a truly great place to swim but be very, very, extremely cautious whilst in the water - the currents are very strong in some areas of the gorge.
Port Douglas is very scenic and majestic with many beautiful beaches - most of which you really cannot swim as there are signs advising caution with the possibility of crocks and marine stingers. Port Douglas has a vast range of eateries - would definitely recommend staying/visiting.

Port Douglas is a beautiful sleepy coastal town that is spotlessly clean, tropical, and well-positioned to visit the reef and other attractions in the area. We could have stayed a week just kicking back and relaxing in this beautiful town, enjoying many cafes, bars, and pubs. I'd highly recommend visiting this beautiful part of Queensland.
My partner and I, we stayed in a Swimout hotel room for 3 nights, and we absolutely loved everything about our stay. The room was clean and well presented. The highlight was direct access to 1 of the 6 lagoon-style swimming pools from our private balcony or patio. Parking was accessible to just outside our room. Room was equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and a small sink. Not too far from Port Douglas town. Very convenient 👌 😊. We will definitely go back here.
Our 5 night stay at the Outrigger in Port Douglas was fabulous! Peter and Amanda were gracious hosts and helped orient us upon check-in. The two bedroom apartment was immaculate and quiet! The pool area was a welcomed retreat after a day out. At the last minute our party of 3 expanded to a party of 4, but it was no problem for Amanda as she already had all the beds ready and waiting. A truly pleasurable stay. Kudos to Amanda and Peter our Outrigger hosts! Beth
Super location only steps from 4 mile beach, awesome staff (Meghan and John). Super helpful at all times. Quiet location away from Port Douglas city proper and all the other hotels etc. Still very easily accesible by local shuttle and for tour pick-ups. Awesome accommodation that felt cheerful, comfortable, quiet, clean and very spacious. Close to wildlife Habitat and IGA. Pub across the street was fun and local.
Good sized room with a comfortable bed and nicely decorated. Close to the beach and the centre of Port Douglas. Bernie on reception was extremely helpful and kept us updated on temporary road closures caused by flash flooding from a cyclone. Outdoors there is a large very well equipped outdoor kitchen and a nice pool for cooling off and chilling out under an amazing enormous oceanic mural.
Everything was spotlessly clean, freshly painted and a new kitchen and bathroom. The gardens are beautiful and the pool looked lovely although we didn't have time to use it. The apartments are very central to both the shops and beach. Most importantly, Sonya and Robin were so helpful and friendly. Sonya helped us organise a great day out in and around Port Douglas.
The property was very neat and well-maintained, clean, and had friendly staff who were willing to accommodate requests wherever they could. The location is ideal for visiting Port Douglas, and the owners kindly offered our car to stay in the carpark after checkout, so we could explore a very busy Port Douglas for the day.
My family and I loved this house. We loved everything. The location, the pool, the home....everything! It was so clean, quiet and peaceful. It is a beautifully designed home and the owners were so welcoming and helpful in anything we needed.
We will definitely stay here when we come to Port Douglas.
Ultima in Port Douglas was a great place to stay. Close walk (15 minute stroll) to the Main Street with plenty of food options. We appreciated the suggestions - they were fantastic! We were pleasantly surprised with how well thought out the place was and was very comfortable for our stay.
Wonderful location very very close to the beach . Possibly the best location of holiday accommodation in Port Douglas .
You can view the beach and ocean from the pool area. The apartments are also a very short walk from the restaurants and shops in Macrossin St .
The Apartments were excellent, very clean and well furnished and a fabulous size, set around a beautiful pool area
with barbecue facilities
it is only a short stroll to the centre of port Douglas, we would definitely book here again it was perfect
Every meal we had at the hotel was wonderful and the service was fabulous. I really appreciated the front desk addressing any issues or assisting with tour bookings. I can’t say too much, the resort made for the perfect vacation.
Ken and Colin were both friendly and helpful, providing useful information on what to do in Port Douglas and making the stay easy. Close to town and easy to wander around. Good room with everything that we needed.
What wasn't to like? Beautiful boutique hotel, with immaculate facilities inside and out.
I honestly couldn't fault our stay at all.
We were 100m from the beach and a 2 min walk from Main St!
Perfect
Very well appointed and comfortable unit in a convenient location close to the centre of Port Douglas. The manager of Tropical Apartments was very obliging and helpful making for a very comfortable stay.
Me and my partner had a get away at the Ramada hotel. Port Douglas itself we felt was not the greatest. But the hotel ans staff were exceptional! Would rate our experience 10/10!!
Good apartment hotel in Port Douglas. Family run. Great location with a short walk to four mile beach and the main street in town. Tour guides all know it for pick ups.
