Tourist information centre excellent very helpful staff.
Tourist information centre excellent very helpful staff. Toured some of the cellar doors. Travelled to Cowra which was well worth the visit. Also the Ophir Gold where gold first discovered in NSW. Orange central to lots of places of interest. Large town with everything you need. The Ex Services Club excellent for meals.

Orange really has nothing for the tourist.
Orange really has nothing for the tourist. It's a nice town, but you've seen it all in a day or so. It's a bit of a drab place. We ate at local returned servicemens club which was excellent Parking is a pain; it's reverse angle.

The Parkview Hotel had good food at a reasonable price.
The service was also good. We walked from De Russie Hotel - about 3 blocks just near the park.

There are many places to eat on the main strip in Orange.
There are many places to eat on the main strip in Orange. The best place we found was the Village Bakery. It has lovely pies, sandwiches and pastries highly recommend a visit for breakfast.
Also visit the Parrot distillery for a taste of the locally brewed gin.
We traveled from cobar to orange in the peak of summer. Just a heads up on this route in summer early Jan one passes many towns where there is hardly anything open due to the summer heat. Recommend you carry lots of water, plenty of snacks and a Jerry can of fuel in case you run out. Also please be mindful of stray goats on this route. Not many emue or kangaroo on this part of our journey. We traveled in the daylight hours so not sure of night.

Orange has a very interesting history and it is well worth a visit to the Regional Museum and a bus tour of Orange is highly recommended. The Cook Park is a beautiful heritage park also called Orange Botanic Gardens established 150 years ago with trees testament to their age The view from Mt Canobolas is worth a trip and it's so easy to get around Orange even by foot taking in some beautiful houses and bigger estates. There is also an Art Gallery and a Music Conservatorium in Orange. We had 2 fabulous meals at Birdie Noshery and at Union Bank but there are many cafes to choose from for casual dining. If wineries are of interest Orange boasts several well established and award winning wineries in the region which are mostly open for tastings. There is a monthly growers Market in Orange. Orange is surrounded by some historical and pretty villages relatively close by such as Molong Millthorpe Canowandra and others.

Owner is absolutely great and happy to help with anything. This place will be amazing when the pub is up and running in hopefully two weeks or so.
Also extremely close to everything in a short walk, but not over crowded.
Rooms are clean, there is parking, shared bathrooms are clean and probably have the best water pressure I've experienced in any hotel.. Including high end.
It's all about location - fabulous views, kangaroos feeding in the morning and very peaceful. The cottage was lovely and well equipped. A good continental breakfast was included, and a bonus bottle of the winery's wine. An easy drive into Orange for shopping, restaurants etc. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms + extra shower & toilet, so a great option for a family or 2 couples.
It was a pleasant surprise to find such a gem. Clean, spacious, well-appointed, on a quiet street but within 5 minutes walking distance of the main street. This was my first trip to Orange, and the hosts were prompt and helpful in answering my questions (about key access, taxi to airport, etc.). I would definitely recommend it.
Everything about the hotel were up to the standard.
It has a great feel as first entered the building. The front desk was very helpful
We would definitely stay in our next trip & recommend to our friends if visiting Orange. Location is very important when you go & visit a new place - the De Russi has it.
Hotel was in a really good location has an Indian restaurant in the property. There's a park opposite if you wanna stretch your legs. Close to all shops like Woolies, Coles, cafes and pubs. We were there on the Easter long weekend holiday and parking was packed and first come first serve.
The room was clean, stylish and well-furnished. The bed was very comfortable. I liked that they actually had proper coffee and not just instant ones. Check-in and out was a breeze (including welcome drinks). The hotel breakfast was very good too. Staff were very friendly.
location was great. thought that the hotels lovely facade was an indication of more good things inside. the towels and linen were clean and the bed was ok tho I would have liked a mattress cover. the breakfast was great tho no fresh orange juice was an issue.
Fabulous!!!
The hotel and the staff were amazing!
Fit-outs, cleanliness, quality of service exceeded my expectations!!!
Great value for money!
The service especially was exceptional!!! For a moment I thought - am I still in Australia...)))
Stylish and modern hotel located on the outskirts of town, but close to the main public and private hospitals.
Restaurant offered fine dining, but is rather expensive. Set breakfasts, included in base rate, were excellent.
Nice and cosy room with all the amenities that you would expect. It is in a working winery but all the staff were extremely friendly and willing to chat and answer any questions. The wine is also very good.
The property is located close to the Orange CBD. The bed was very comfortable. There as a large outdoor area at the back that was very nice with the present autumn weather.
