The decoration is elegant French style and you will have a feeling living in the maison. We booked a 3 bedroom room and it has a super large dining area, kitchen, living room. Our family enjoy the time at Launceston. The shopping district is within walking distance and you can drive nearby to Kmart/Coles/Cataract Gorge.

Being a city person, Launceston was a lot quieter than expected. There aren't many shops/restaurants around but enough.
If you are into nature, hiking and camping, then Launceston and its surroundings is the perfect goldmine. We loved Cradle Mountain and the endless hikes it offered.
There are many quaint little coastal towns to explore too up north.

Be sure where you stay what they say Is what you get.
Be sure where you stay what they say Is what you get. Look for value for money. Make sure you are aware some properties do want their money days before you arrive and not on arrival. Stay central to access in walking distance to businesses.
Look up parking, locations etc before trekking out.

Just a short review of penny royal.
Just a short review of penny royal. There were notes of charges of 250 to get room cleaned. I didn’t ask if that was extra cleans Launceston seem a pleasant reasonably small city. Suited me fine. Had a wonderful day with family we ate a a bar in Charles street over from target. Beautiful food. Even burgers I normally wouldn’t eat were delicious. Sorry I can’t recall the name. But it was loverly and we sat outside an had a drink and shopped for a couple of hours
We stayed at penny royal. Very unusual and quaint. A lover very happy would go back

Beautiful old buildings everywhere, friendly people, walkable and lots to see and do. Great food and shopping. All meals memorable from coffee shops to restaurants. Fantastic made in Tasmania offerings available from food to furniture.
Had a memorable trip to Josef Cromney winery to do a tasting and lunch, would highly recommend. Taxi required to get there around $30 each way, but worth it. We did both a paddling and boat trip on the river both of which were good, and a separate full day wine tour which was also enjoyable.
Old Heritage Building refurbished beautifully, so comfortable and relaxing, CLEAN and GRAND. Owners Tom & Bec have clearly made a successful career change from Accounting to Classy Hoteliers, well done and well done to your Staff that obviously work hard to present such a beautiful place to stay. Free gifts are a lovely gesture, complete breakfast and onsite parking a big bonus. Our new place to stay when visiting Launceston, thanks Folks :))
We had the breakfast to go which was reasonable for the price as we were waiting on our taxi to take us to the car hire pick up. We only used the hotel as our overnight stop as we arrived late in Launceston and intended to tour the island the next day. The late night access instructions were very clear and we gained access to our room without any dramas as all staff had left by the time of our arrival.
It is less 'hotel' and more self contained apartment accommodation. In saying that, it was a lovely stay however after previously staying at Peppers Silo in Launceston, it is definitely not as luxurious.
I do want to thank Cathy for going above and beyond during our stay always happy and smiling too!
We absolutely loved the clean, funky and modern feel of the hotel. The location was primo, being central in the CBD and across the road from City Park. The staff were friendly and engaging. The rooms were well planned and extremely comfortable. Wonderful beds. The bathrooms were of a high standard.
Wonderful stylish 2 bed 2 bath apartment. Great facilities & location. Good value for money. Very clean. Loved the concept of some of cost going to charity. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others visiting Launceston.
The change hotel was a superb place to stay in Launceston. Central and close to everything. We did not have a vehicle and walked just about everywhere. Also liked that we could call the staff to assist with a later check out.
Comfortable room, good sized bathroom. Walking distance to restaurants. We stayed at the hotel on a Sunday night so it was quiet around the area. The hotel is very close to Launceston Hospital.
The staff were absolutely wonderful, couldn't get any better - helpful, happy, positive. The hotel was so close to the Lavender estate and other locations so that was fab.
The room was clean and comfortable. Check-in in after-hours was no problem. The style of the Art Hotel was really nice. Great location to explore Launceston by foot.
The room was larger than I expected and spotlessly clean. The hotel was almost full but still very quiet and relaxing. The duty manager was particularly helpful.
This beautiful graceful lady is fully restored offering a step back in time but with all the modern comforts a boutique hotel can offer. Fabulous comfy bed too.
This is just the cutest cottage, great location and lovely breakfast.
We will be back if we come to Launceston again and might try one of their other rooms.
