Very busy even in the off-season, so pick your time there carefully and also choose your accommodation in relation to what you want to visit. Getting around the G/Coast, even by car, can be slow.

I loved the Gold Coast!
I loved the Gold Coast! We were in Broadbeach, which had a relaxed vibe, great restaurants, each to access grocery, and great beaches! It was beautiful with a lot of options: hang out on the beach, check out a wildlife sanctuary, or schedule an excursion like snorkeling or surfing. So much fun.

I love the Gold Coast but in particular, Broadbeach.
I love the Gold Coast but in particular, Broadbeach. We walk everywhere as everything is close by, with restaurants, Pacific Fair and the Casino all very close by. The Gold Coast can get very hot in Summer so check temps before booking.

We stayed at Burleigh this time around.
We stayed at Burleigh this time around. It was a lot quieter than Surfers. Mixture of restaurants- family friendly and for singles. Lots of desert places and different restaurants to cater for everyone’s tastes.
I do prefer Surfers as I like the hustle and bustle and better shopping however Burleigh was a nice quiet change.

Amazing beaches.
Amazing beaches. The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a must visit if you want to have a real experience with kangaroos and koalas. And you are going to have not only the best photos but the best views of the Gold Coast at the Skypoint building.

The Gold Coast covers a large area and long sea front.
The Gold Coast covers a large area and long sea front. Organised like a city with 700,000+ population. Public transport is good though there is no bus or tram route along the promenade. Need a Go card which is also valid in Brisbane - these are not as widely available as their equivalents in Sydney or Melbourne. Ocean and beach views are stunning and Surfers' Paradise is not an exaggeration.
The location was stunning. Value for money was hard to believe. We were looking for a cheap motel to stay at for our two days at the theme parks but fluked out finding the hotel at a cheaper rate then other motels. Room was huge, clean beds super comfy and super quiet quiet. It also had a 5* view facing the marina and the kids thought we were millionaires coming into that huge shiny foyer. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Wifi was provided on request. Breakfast was a bonus. And had all you expect for continental.
Great location just across from the beach and a short walk to the shops and public transport yet far enough away from the noise and hustle of the main strip. The hotel staff were lovely, they had beach boards and buckets for the kids to use for our stay. The pools onsite were great - one indoor and one outside and both were nice and clean. We had a beach facing 2 bedroom apartment for a very affordable price for a family for a weeks stay - not a super modern hotel but it had all we needed to be comfortable.
I recently had an outstanding stay at The Crown Plaza Gold Coast. The staff at check-in were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, setting a warm and welcoming tone for my visit. The hotel's facilities were spotlessly clean and well-equipped, and my room, for the price, was remarkably spacious and comfortable. The Crown Plaza Gold Coast offers a fantastic combination of great service, impeccable cleanliness, and excellent value for money. I highly recommend it for an enjoyable stay on the Gold Coast.
A great hotel with great pool facilities for the entire family. Buffet breakfast was fabulous for the kids with plenty of variety. All the staff members except one were fantastic, particularly Christian at the concierge and Michael, the manager. The room was nicely presented with great facilities. Comfortable bed with clean sheets. The whole hotel smelled lovely and the doormen were superbly attentive and polite. I definitely recommend their high tea and dining at their restaurants.
The valet staff were excellent - dropping the car off was a breeze. I travel extensively and stay at many 4 & 5 star hotels and it was on the basis of the Star Grand being 5 star that my booking was made. compared to other 5 star hotels I have stayed at recently, The Star Grand is living on past glory. The room was very dated. The covered Walkway from the hotel / casino to the convention centre and across the road from Broadbeach is very convenient (especially in the rain).
Great place to stay for a family with 2 kids. The photos don't do this place justice at all. Views were phenomenal. I typically stayed at 5 star hotels when I travel so I was very close to cancelling. Fortunately, I didn't. It was spacious and the furniture was perfect for my 11 month old to crawl around and explore the whole place. Walking distance to play grounds and great restaurants. The added free extras such as baby cot and high chair was very much appreciated.
Breakfast was good enough. But when I made a booking I have been told by booking.com that we will get similar 2 rooms..but not in this case..we got one average sized room and another one smaller..we have paid enough for family rooms but we did not get ..I would like to get reimbursed money we have paid for breakfast $30 each and then we get to know from hotel is cheaper.. you guys have ripped us.
.,
2 king size beds in the family room! So nice for our family of 4. Nice mini bar set up. Great location to the beach, shops and airport. Great location on the south side of the Gold Coast so never got stuck in traffic coming from NSW. Lovely helpful staff that offered extra help with the kids, beach towels and an early check in. The rooftop was also a fun safe space for the baby to crawl around.
look it's your basic no frills budget motel on the Gold Coast... if you attending dream-world you could walk to it ... movie world and wet & wild are not far away short drive.. plenty of beds in the room and ok size..has a pool... so if you only want a cheap motel ..perfect .. there is a great tavern not far away boathouse ..good meals and a Westfield not far away either
Our stay this time, we were put into a room better suited to the size of our family. It was spacious, clean and functional.
The staff were always so happy and helpful.
The position of this hotel gives you so many dining options in and around Surfer Paradise. There is always something to do also.
This is our number 1 pick when we stay at the Gold Coast.
All the above were great, rooms were so clean , pool was great, loved the atmosphere and setting. Bed was so comfortably . Great place to stay with friends for my 60th birthday party, Great 5 star hotel. All the staff were very welcoming and very helpful. I will definitely be going back there with my family on the next holiday!
Pool, gardens, access, parking, room size, location, beach access, quiet area, easy to access Gold Coast highway, atmosphere, staff, family vibe - everyone is friendly & kids love the pool and safe environment, foxtel, air con.
The location of hotel is excellent.
Parking is easy and relatively cheap in the Paradise Centre.
The swimming pool, spa and gym is nice. The multipurpose sport court is spot on.
Close to the airport and has a nice breakfast place across the street. Cheap surfboard rentals and free earplugs. Good place to stay for a night before a flight
Great Location, cheap and cheerful hotel. Your get what you pay for everything was ok and good value for the money our room could do with a new couch really
