I do the Ironman event each year. I plan to come back and stay for a holiday lots to see, I love the bats and the Botanical garden. The swim circle thing is excellent although has a strong urine smell near the facilities.
Lots of paths for cycling and the Barwon river has an excellent walking track all along. Great place for active people.
If you're into food then you're in for a treat, lots of cafe and restuarants offering a great range of quality foods. I had some delicious crepes on the foreshor.

Geelong city is a very nice place.
Geelong city is a very nice place. It has a long fresh air beach with a lot of seagulls flying around and basking in the sun. It is a city for people who love running and cycling. A city where you can come back to nature with many kinds of birds such as Cockatoos, Magpies...

I stayed the night as I was catching the Spirit of Tasmania early the following morning. I would have been very happy to have spent longer to explore Geelong. Where I stayed was very convenient, quiet and easy walking distance to restaurants.

The waterfront is lovely; Eastern beach has beautiful park surrounds that reflect an elegance of an earlier era; many restaurants with great cuisine; art galleries; the botanic gardens are delightful.

Melbourne without the crowds.
Melbourne without the crowds. There are some great restaurants and cafe's in Geelong but without having to deal with the crowds of Melbourne. If you want to go to Melbourne we got a train which was easy and comfortable and took around 50 minutes. Great wineries nearby and if you want a day trip Great Ocean Road or Otway National Park are within a couple of hours drive.
The room was clean and much quieter than I had expected (given there is a busy road and railway line nearby). Office staff were polite and able to facilitate a quick check-in for me, as I was in a rush. Parking on-site was fairly secure, off the street and within the building. The hotel is close to the public transport and in a good position if you plan to go on foot to visit different areas in Geelong. It was only a 5 minute drive from the venue I was working at for the weekend, so very conveniently situated.
Been here 3 times now for Geelong Ironman. Awesome location with shopping center close by, wonderful cycling/walking track along the river and a short easy drive to the start finish of the Ironman event. We had planned to have a holiday break here just to enjoy what Geelong has to offer (quite a lot from the looks of it) but yeah Covid. I expect to come back and enjoy a proper holiday before the next Ironman event.
Great secure parking, very friendly staff, great apartment.Love the keyless entry. Very spacious, comfiest bed we've slept in on any staycay, love the block out blinds. Everything you need provided. Love the fact they get serviced everyday. Locations perfect, short stroll down to Steampacket Gardens & town centre, very quiet at night for a great nights sleep. Will definitely recommend Quest Apartments Geelong.
Well located accommodation, close to Geelong University Hospital, short walk to cafes, shopping, Eastern beach etc. Located on a busy road but 2 doors between road and bedroom so noise not an issue. Easy parking outside apartment. Stylish and well set up especially bathroom. Very clean. Had everything I needed for 1 night stay. Excellent communication from Jen which was much appreciated. Thanks so much.
We were travelling to Tasmania on the Spirit of Tasmania the following day. We found the Shannon motor inn was extremely convenient for this. We had a great meal at the hotel next door, and fuel was cheap at the corner of the street.
We were happy with the location and the facilities, and the service at the Shannon Motor inn.
Great location, easy to get to, in central Geelong. Shops & entertainment are all just a short stroll away. Beds comfortable, the apartment has everything that you can possibly need to do anything..
You could easily cook all your meals there, but there is so many local food places so close by, it's a challenging choice!
Room was large and spacious for our family.
Close proximity to the Geelong City Centre. Kmart and fast food nearby.
Management allowed us to leave one car in car park after checkout, as parking was limited at Deakin University Waterfront campus. We collected early afternoon. Much appreciated.
The location was excellent, very scenic, everything that you would need for a comfortable stay was provided. We have travelled extensively 401 Pier Point rated better than many 5 star International hotels. Thanks to our host Paul.
The staff at reception are excellent to speak to. The location was great. Close to the beach, westfield for shopping and the CBD to tour. The rooms are spacious. The bathroom is roomy and the showers are great.
Superb location and lovely spacious and comfortable apartment. The views were amazing, and just a short walk to all the delights of the Geelong waterfront. So glad we found this and would love to stay again.
The hotel was nice but so expensive!!!! Not worth the money considering breakfast wasn't even included. I booked it in when it was cheaper and was not aware of the rise in price when checking in. Not happy.
It was new, modern, clean and in a great location. It was quiet, and the hosts were lovely. This is a great place for a night or two away, or if you have to stay and work in Geelong for a period of time.
The location is beautiful and calm, very relaxing and a pleasant walk to the waterfront. Space seems quite new and beautifully decorated, breakfast has a large variety, very good. Great value for money.
The bed was fresh and clean, location is good for shopping nearby, Belmont for example and location is not too far away from the city Centre of Geelong. Public transport - bus and railway station close.
Superb location. Geelong CBD right at your front door. Made it easy to access public transport like train station and ferry service. Plus great proximity to events and nightlife in Geelong.
short stroll to the bay promenade, which was fantastic...Geelong was a real surprise packet for us ...such a beautiful waterfront /piers/restaurants/bars....
