We were there for a hockey tournament so we didn't get to see much of Wollongong. Also there was an extreme weather event while we were there so we couldn't get down to the waterfront in the time we had available between games.

Yes, I would recommend Wollongong for the experience: the streets are filled with homeless persons at night and roaring with street cars. Nonetheless, I was not subjected to any acts of violence or intimidation. It appears that everyone is minding their own business. Skydiving with a nearby company provided me with an unforgettable experience amidst the beautiful coastline of Wollongong and its beaches. The beaches in Wollongong are immaculate and an excellent location to swim. Although the food is ordinary, it is well worth the time to dine at one of the many waterfront restaurants. For visitors in their 20s, Friday and Saturday night seem to have a pretty good nightlife. If you find yourself near Fever Night Club, chances are that you will have people approach your for drugs or of purchasing of drugs. Just say 'no' and they will leave you alone. They are generally polite about it.

Wollongong has a large range of things to do from skydiving onto North Beach, surfing and swimming at the beach, fishing and everything you want to do at the beach. There is a large shopping plaza in the heart of Wollongong. You can also jump on the freeway south to Kiama, Gerringong, Berry and be there within half an hour. Beautiful spots to visit and great restaurants.

We visited Wollongong for the annual Honk Oz street music festival in mid January, which is a lot of fun. The mall and arts area in Wollongong come alive with brass bands and parades. The beaches are patrolled and North Wollongong has Parkrun on Saturday at 8am and places for coffee and breakfast. The Pot of Gold Cantina in the Mall is an authentic, excellent place to eat.

It was only a stopover for 1 night to have a Medical procedure. I was born at Bulli Hospital & moved away for work when I was 24, I loved living in Wollongong, I was lucky to have lived in Thirroul for the whole 24 years.
I was after pet friendly and they were at first unable to help me but then they rearranged a room in order to give us appropriate accommodation for our pet dog. This was a beautiful room with tiled floor instead of carpets. The friendliness and extra effort put in by staff to accommodate us was very much appreciated.
Also loved the key code entry which means no fuss on arrival and departure.
No outside noises on a fairly busy street, so must have double glazed windows.
Very close to beach and shops
Location was perfect, the room was a lot more dated than it looked in the picture. The bed was small, it may have been a large double or small queen, these days all hotels should have king size. Staff were excellent and we were able to walk for something to eat and watch the footy. The tv took a bit of working out and the room was very clean. Had a balcony which we really liked. There is a cafe in the hotel which was great for takeaway coffee in the morning.
The motel's central location right on the highway means it's close to shops, restraurants. It's right next to a roundabout so it's not hard to get in/out even if you arrive on the opposite side of the road. Staff are very covid safe requiring double vax to stay there and no contact key drop off when you leave. Room had decent facilities eg: microwave, minifridge, jug, free tea/coffee/milk and biscuits which is nice considering it's a cheaper place.
The owner and the ladies in the office were absolutely wonderful. They were more than helpful.
I especially loved how close the walkways were to the stunning beach so I made the most of the surroundings on a daily basis. Access to the camp is easy to find and super secure.
Cabins are clean and have everything you need. Home away from home.
Great location. Close to beach. Hotel was clean but overpriced for the room we had. Parking on site was a bonus. Check in was easy. Room key was left in a safety box. Close to Novatel and pub + cafes. Short walk into Wollongong itself - there is a free city bus if you don't like walking.
We’ll equipped apartment with good facilities including secure parking included. Friendly and helpful owner/manager. I found the location good for my requirements and would be happy to stay again. Stair access from the car park to apartments may be an issue for some.
I'm from Wollongong and visit a lot. There are better apartments to rent. Location was good. Had good kitchen items. Toiletries were good, razor and cream, toothbrush and sample size toothpaste, cotton buds and rounds, shower cap
Room was spacious, recently renovated, bathroom small but well serviced daily. Food available at the hotel was very good, staff friendly and helpful. We will be back soon. Easy parking and central to everywhere in Wollongong.
very good facilities - with access to basketball court and cycling pathways... we were given adjacent cabins enabling quick catching up with group... proximity to Wollongong tourist spots was a bonus...
Great to be upgraded with a balcony city view by friendly staff. Great location with a comfortable room and made our stay one that we could recommend. A must return as we loved The Sage Hotel.
A very large spacious room. Great view of the ocean. A walk in shower finally. PERFECT!
Love coming here to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Our favourite hotel in Wollongong
There was a pool and it was pet friendly. The local pub (lake Illawarra hotel) was very family friendly and had great facilities and Childrens play ground.
