The building is old and needs maintenance but facilities were clean and tidy. No bedlamp. WiFi range was poor and did not reach our room. The young manager was very pleasant. Very low priced . Not 3 Star but adequate.

We visited Broken Hill for three nights as a learning experience for out 10yo grand-daughter. There is lots to see and do - specially recommend: Outback Astronomy; Historic Daydream Mine; Royal Flying Doctor Service; Pro Hart Gallery; Menindee Lakes area, especially Historic Woolshed and drive out to Burke and Wills campsite; Living Desert National Park especially sculptures; Albert Kersten minerology and geology museum; Silverton, especially Mundi Mundi lookout and the cemetery; Block 10 lookout and Miners Memorial. You should get a 4WD vehicle to access all areas.

We stayed overnight only as a stop on a longer journey. From what little we saw, Broken Hill is steeped in mining history and pioneering in Australia. It's a clean and tidy town with good facilities and quite a lot to see. We intend to go back when time allows.

😊 Extra wide roads & footpaths, extremely friendly people, great weather, easy to navigate around town, parking was readily available & accessible, plentiful shops & cafes, tourist attractions great - was more to history of town than expected & locals are proud of this. BH Visitor Info Centre & Ladies at BH Family History Group & Caretaker at the Cemetary well all extremely helpful. Larry at Whites Mining Museum impressive display & great narrator of the BH History. 😒 sadly which is no fault of the locals - the countryside is dry & Barron.

Unfortunately I went when many tours were resting.

Unfortunately I went when many tours were resting. This meant I could have booked privately but the cost was beyond me. Travelling alone has its drawbacks. Locals were very very helpful and I was offered and I accepted many lifts. Being to the larger supermarkets. Being to The Miners Memorial. Broken Hill has a wealth of History and the multitude of information gathered on walks is brilliant. Back home, friends were keen to listen to stories from Broken Hill and I felt vindicated for travelling there , given on my own . PROBUS does do trips there but I am not a member. Well Done, Broken Hill. I would avoid going in Rest Time for Tour Companies.

Visited relatives but had our own freedom.

Visited relatives but had our own freedom. Dropped into the art gallery and most shops in the main street, used the facilities for dining but on one occasion dined at the Democratic club, would recommend a visit to Silverton

This motor inn exceeded my expectations. We booked really late as we had not expected to stay in Broken Hill. The staff were very friendly and accomodation. The rooms were exceptionally clean compared to other accomodation we have stayed in. We have stayed in 2 other motels in Broken Hill and this was by far the best of the 3 and was rated the same as the others.

Staff were considerate of the late time of arrival due to a very long day driving to Broken Hill. The staff, location and facilities were as expected for such a remote western NSW town. I would recommend the Sturt Motel to travellers or workers needing larger rooms with cooking facilities.

They are renovating rooms, but we got one that was not renovated. Carpet and mattress smelled, and they tried to cover it up with cheap perfume. overall dilapidated. I am sure once renovated things will improve, but the 8.1 rating for the motel was way off the mark.

Great location, walking distance to many pubs, cafes et. It was raining so we ate at the Chinese restaurant on-site food was delicious. It's not a 5star establishment but the place is spotless and comfortable and very affordable. What more could you ask for.

That they allowed our little pet to stay. A lot of hotels/motels are claiming to be pet friendly but when called, they disappointingly decline. Annemarie responded to my phone calls. There was a fridge & microwave, which is important to me.
