We went to the Parisian Art Exhibition which was amazing.
We went to the Parisian Art Exhibition which was amazing. The restaurant also had a French menu which was very good. Lovely staff.
The Chinese Dragon gardens & surrounding gardens were beautiful with all the fall leaves coming.
We were there Monday & Tuesday so some of the restaurants we were thinking of going to were closed those days.
The church was also closed those days.
Bendigo is a very relaxed & beautiful historic town.
We probably should have stayed another day to even see more of the nearby areas.
We had breakfast at an amazing organic restaurant that also sells fruit & vegetables. You will find it in Lyttleton Terrace. Lovely young friendly staff & tasty healthy food.

Bendigo has a great art gallery and some fantastic heritage buildings and museums. There are also good food options such as The Dispensary (highly recommend). It is a good base camp for discovering the area to visit other heritage towns.

Plenty of local attractions to see, with lots of period architecture.
Foodies are very well catered for with abundant little restaurants all through the city centre and some amazing menu items.
Two recommendations are the Golden Square Hotel (I ordered Thia Red Duck Curry, which was very nice. But when I saw the Chef's special for the night coming out - Porterhouse Steak and Pot/Glass of wine $28 - I wished I had ordered that instead.
The other one is Sim'r in Hargreaves St, which has some amazing things on the menu and make in-house a range of amazing breads

Borchelli Italian restaurant is great, with excellent meals and desserts. Bendigo Art Gallery is worth a visit, with the current Paris: Impressions of Life exhibition. The Hat Shop is also fun, with a huge selection of hats. The Australian Eucalyptus Oil Company has a good selection of products for gifts, plus plenty of shops to suit all tastes.

Bendigo has an excellent Art Gallery and is worth visiting when a major art exhibition is being held. Paris Impressionists was worth the visit.
Bendigo is a charming old style city with buildings and churches which have been preserved.
Bunji Thai is an exceptional restaurant on Park Lane.
It is an easy city to walk and leave the car behind.
Their hospitality was exceptional, and they were always ready to assist. The room was a perfect blend of comfort and functionality and impeccably clean. Given it was warm we certainly made use of the pool facility. The location is ideal being directly opposite Lake Weeroona with a blend of cafes and restaurants nearby and not too far from the City Centre. We have stayed here on multiple occasions and continue to return due to the hospitality and the amenities cater to all our needs.
Very clean and great value for a 2 bedroom motel accomodation. Room facilities included 2 televisions, wifi, plenty of towels and pillows, toaster, microwave, kettle, tea and ‘decent’ Mocona coffee!
I stayed overnight with my elderly mum while we visited a relative at Bendigo Health. Only 10 minute walk to the hospital and close to the city centre. Dinner at the Lakeview hotel next door to the motel was lovely. Friendly and helpful motel manager😊
Absolutely gorgeous!
Hotel Ernest blew us away. The old bank has been renovated into a stunning Bendigo escape. The service is exceptional and we could not recommend it highly enough. We were able to walk everywhere, from the theatre to dinner and through the gorgeous gardens that are right next door.
We cannot wait to come back and stay again!
Thank you Hotel Ernest!
This Quest Accommodation is pretty close to everything. We walked to middle of town, hopped on the Tourist Tram that took us around Bendigo from The “Joss House” to “Deborah Gold Mine”. A fascinating place to visit with an informative Commentary on the City.
The Lakeside Hotel on McCrae st was just up the road so an excellent place for our Dinner
The check-in process was fast and efficient. Our room was located on the top floor, the highest available level giving very nice views across Bendigo. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked well. The location of the hotel and the history of the place is amazing. Because we left on a Sunday the parking was free.
This hotel is located in a fantastic position. Across from the Art Gallery, walking distance to the Mall, Conservatory Gardens, Alexandra Fountain and the Bendigo Visitor Centre. You have cafes and restaurants virtually at your doorstep. At night it was very quiet and you can't hear your neighbours.
The location was perfect, we were able to walk everywhere we needed to be and the show we went to see was over the road. The room was ideal for a one night stay, had all that we needed and the bed was very comfortable. The main shopping centre in Bendigo was a five minutes walk, perfect.
Accomodation was basic but clean and cozy and great value for money. Plenty to keep the kids entertained and the jumping pillow was a winner! Great holiday and would recommend to anyone looking for fuss free accommodation in the beautiful town of Bendigo.
Kitchenette was well used. Appreciated having table to work at. Excellent location near gym, shopping, take away meals and restaurants. Short drive to art gallery and arts/performance centre. Plan to stay again, for our next trip to Bendigo.
Good location. Whilst out of the centre Bendigo, it was very easy walking. And Bendigo is a very nice place to walk around. Also room is quite big. Not being part of a motel or hotel means it is very private, secluded and quiet.
Excellent location; clean room; good hotel bistro next door; close to Percy & Percy cafe. In room breakfast was excellent at realistic price, and in-room beverages and nibbles were also good value.
Location close to city centre, good price. Room older style - small but well presented, with parking right outside door. Would stay there again. Walking distance to good hotel for dinner.
Loved the arty features across the hotel to give it a point of interest and difference. Decent food on offer at the hotel's cafe The Pantry - enjoyed dinner and breakfast there.
Excellently maintained, beautiful home. So close to everything in a lovely street. Everything we needed was there! Would love to stay here every time we visit Bendigo!
