FAQs about hotels in Adelaide

Adelaide: Australia's Undiscovered Gem

Scratch the surface of Australia’s undiscovered gem with its blend of wonderful beaches, wide boulevards and extensive parklands including the Adelaide Botanic Garden. The City of Churches chimes to the beat during festival season with the Adelaide Festival of Arts, Adelaide Fringe and WOMADelaide.

The River Torrens flows through the city from the surrounding Mount Lofty Ranges. The Adelaide Hills features The Cleland Conservation Park that includes a wildlife park where you can pat koalas and Mount Lofty Summit with its panoramic views of the city. Hahndorf, with its German history, is another highlight.

The coast has some fantastic beaches. Historic Glenelg is Adelaide’s favourite local playground and further south are the wide open shores of Aldinga where you can drive your car on to the beach.

There are few better multicultural markets than the Adelaide Central Market or choose from a host of marvellous museums and art galleries, some having free entry. The picturesque and historic Adelaide Oval is a favourite for sports lovers.

Booking.com has accommodation in the city or visit surrounding areas like the Barossa Valley, Flinders Ranges and Kangaroo Island.

Adelaide is a lovely clean city with lots of excellent restaurants and bars. We enjoyed our bus tour of the city, the zoo with the pandas, Hardorf and the wineries. The markets only sell food but they are excellent markets. Well done Adelaide, you are a lovely city.

Adelaide has some of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at before. Fugazzi, Press, Oggi, Nico are all exceptional. The architecture is beautiful full of sandstone buildings. The Torrens river precinct is relaxing and beautiful to view and wander along the walking paths. The city is easy to negotiate and with the wineries so close it is well worth spending a few days in the city.

Adelaide is a great place to visit. Unfortunately my accommodation was poor. Paid way too much for a very outdated place. It had these horrible walls which the made the place unpleasant. I hated going back the place.

We were there for Gather Round, so there was a great "buzz" around the city. We had lunch at the Cathedral Hotel (near Adelaide Oval) - mid-week menu was a bit limited. Very easy to get around - walking was easy, and we caught the tram from Glenelg into the city.

We totally enjoyed the Art Gallery of South Australia with its exquisite permanent and temporary exhibits( ie the "Inner Sanctum"); the Botanic Garden and its amazing collection of trees and the WOMAD Festival. We were surprised how uninformed people were when we asked for information-such as direction to places. For example, once we took a taxi and asked to be taken to the Botanic Garden Blue Entrance, though he claimed to know where it was, he dropped us at the main entrance. We were unable to connect with our friends and missed the performance we were supposed to see. We mostly walked and took cabs to go around Adelaide and did not get to experience the public transportation system. Most of the time we enjoyed breakfasts and dinners at our hotel. We also had dinner at a pricey French restaurant (food was okay) as well as Chinatown and some breakfasts at random cafes. The Latte were awesome! We wished we'd had time to see the beaches, but since we also included a 2 day visit to Kangaroo Island in our trip we can't complain too much!

This unique boutique hotel was lovely. We stayed in a premier twin room (which had plenty of space for 3 adults), clean facilities and very helpful staff from reception to housekeeping. Breakfast at Bocelli's is a short walk away and they have a great spread of food. It's also in a great location, being just down the road from Central market/Chinatown and 15-20min walk from Rundle Mall. We really enjoyed our time here and would stay here again when visiting Adelaide. Thanks!

Awesome value for money. One of the cheapest nice hotels in Adelaide but still a nice, clean room in a great location. We really appreciate the free parking, which is rarely found at hotels these days. Love that there are complimentary snacks and drinks as well. We also really appreciate that it can accommodate our growing family with the twin double beds, which is also tricky to find in the average hotel.
