I'm a bit bias because my parents used to live in Taupo and we spent a lot of time in Taupo. Love Taupo for its vibrant feel, the eateries, the scenery of course the shops and the lake. Everything about Taupo is great.
Could live there but we live in Australia.

Lake Taupo is simply stunning.
Lake Taupo is simply stunning. A gorgeous lake with mountain views. Clear blue waters which are clean and safe to swim. Water temperature was 21c during our (February) which is just fine for a dip. So good that parking by the lake was free! Saves the hassle of finding change / or downloading whatever parking app! And the town offers so many excellent cafes, shops and bars all within a short walk away. Plus it feels safe to walk and everywhere is so clean. Including the air! Huka Falls are a must-see-place - just 6 or so km from the hotel to drive and check out Rangatira Park Lookout on the way if time (picture of view of the Lake from the lookout).

Taupo was a great stop for us.
Taupo was a great stop for us. The Huka jet boat was great fun and worth the money. The falls are great and a must visit. Craters of the Moon was also worth seeing. There is good shopping in town, much more than we expected, and some nice cafes/restaurants.

There was a market day with many artists and craftspeople showing their wares. The restaurants on the waterfront were buzzing. We went to Baku because it was the closest to where we parked. It was a great choice and we both had a late breakfast there before continuing our travel. We really didn't spend any time other than the market and brunch as we were passing through. I will stay a couple of days on my next visit to look around further. There is plenty to do if you make the time.

We were there for the Ironman event super busy great to see Taupo buzzing with lots of people, great for retailers. Beautiful place be good they had the markets on too. Fill the town with lots happening. Since it’s an international event. Friday and Saturday
The photos gave an impression it was self-contained room and wasnt but I did book in a hurry and last minute, have stayed in exactly same style properties who actually provided coffee making facilities, utensils and a fridge in the room which again I'm sure was advertised as having when selecting property, will note another 2 properties stayed at similar to here were approx. $40NZD cheaper per night.
A fabulous stay in this motel which provides top class facilities with a very spacious room overlooking the lake. We enjoyed watching the waterfront activities from our sunny balcony.
The position and closeness to town and all the eateries was excellent, basically around the corner.
The host and all the staff are welcoming and make you feel at home.
This was definitely a highlight stay in Taupo.
Nice view from the lake apartments 😊 super close to town, so easy to walk in!
Stayed here with my parents, perfect spot for a family holiday as pool/spa area attached and mini golf straight across the road.
Perfect for couple too, easy walk in to town for shops, restaurants and bars 😊 would stay here again and recommend to anyone travelling into Taupo
Our Hosts Peter & Michelle were amazing! Very sociable and humble couple. The Lakeview room was top notch, beats any hotel room in Taupo. Freshly cooked bacon & Eggs, hash browns plus barista style coffee - Best I’ve had outside of Wellington. The views are cherry on the cake. Definitely staying there again.
The cabin we stayed in was great. Very clean and had everything we needed. Also enjoyed the terrace with beautiful view of the lake. Staff was very kind, bistro on site was convenient and Hilton hotel next door gave another walkable restaurant option. The private pool was the highlight of spa.
The location was perfect. It was walking distance to numerous restaurants and to the lake front which was beautiful! The towels were the softest of any hotel in NZ. Oh, and the on-site washer and dryer were a bonus.
But, I’d say the staff made it a wonderful experience.
Location was great-a 5 min walk to town and just a couple of mins from the Lake.
Bed was very comfy and everything needed was in the apartment.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book here again when we come back to Taupo.
The view was amazing! Lake Taupo is so beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and reading and getting a little relaxation time after many days of travelling. The staff was so kind and welcoming! Thank you so much!
The room was simply beautiful. It was very private and the panoramic view of Lake Taupo was absolutely stunning. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. My only regret was that we didn’t get to spend more time there.
A great view of Lake Taupo and the mountains from the room. This Motel is clean and tidy and the rooms are a good size. The Motel is in walking distance to the town, bars and restaurants. Would recommend.
The hotel was easy to locate and right across the street from the lake. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/utensils and spotless. the bathroom was very large with an adjoining dressing/store room.
The location was great. A two minute walk from a beautiful swimming beach on Lake Taupo. The unit was nice and big, like a small apartment. So much better than staying in one room with no room to move.
Location is perfect, close to the lake. Easy to find the restaurant around the motel. The environment is good and the reception is very kindly. We'll book again if go to Taupo next time.
Very comfortable motel style accommodation with large spa bath fillable with naturally heated water. Room equipped for eating and glimpses over Lake Taupo. Staff welcoming.
