The breakfast was extra and billed separately, but I would have liked to have seen a refill of the croissants and the pain-au-chocolate in the breakfast as they were exceptional ! ( they ran out during our stay ).

The town had many interesting and historic buildings.
The town had many interesting and historic buildings. We spent time at the St Roche cemetery. The headstones are respectfully cared for with special garden beds adjacent to the plots. The view of the Basilique St-Cordon from our window was stunning with its lights lit up at night. The restaurant Chez Mon Vieux had delicious food.

Suited our purpose (we spent a day in Le Quesnoy). In hindsight we could have done it as a day trip from Paris. Little or no English spoken (or the locals just wouldn’t speak English with us?), we had a translation app that got the job done. Food was good and people friendly / tried to be helpful.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the hotel was quite diverse: hot - scrambled eggs, sausages, also cold meat, cheese, jams, yoghurt, pancakes, cereals, bread, crosant, coffee, hernata, juices, chocolate. The facilities are fabulous and I would highly recommend. It's nice to have an assortment of restaurants and it is close to the town centre so you can visit other bars and food outlets. The area is not the nicest but within 15-20 minutes walking, the center of Valenciennes with some good restaurants, cafés, shops and supermarkets can be reached, so it is well located.
