It is a good location with supermarkets, a covid test to go station and history. William the Conqueror (of Normandie) set off for England locally. There is a long sandy beach at Houlgate by the river Dives Estuary. There is a long sandy beach if you walk over the bridge( river Dives) and through Cabourg town centre starting about one mile to the east of the Casino esplanade and stretching over a mile west.There is probably a footpath from the west side of the bridge along the grassy riverbank to the start of Cabourg esplanade. This has not been walked. I have used a hire car or a bus plus walk to reach this beach with excellent facilities in the summer plus lifeguards. I like the Boucherie, Biscuiterie Creperie, and Boulangerie in a little shopping complex mainly for tourists with free car parking just over the river Dives bridge in Cabourg nd

Super welcoming host had prepared an itinerary to walk via the small port of Dives sur Mer to Cabourg and gave us suggestions on where to eat. Good breakfast with bread, baguette, croissants and homemade goodies. Enjoyed our overnight stay very much. Convenient for us was the possibility to park the car in the enclosed garden.

(occasionally noisy as trains would spend long periods idling in the station) so the terrace wasn't really useable.

The house is cute, clean and accomodated the 5 of us very nicely. Kitchen well equipped, Alexa playing music by request and the local free parking not far from the house.
