The Glamorous Parisian Riviera
The fashionable Normandy resort of Deauville is famed for its international film festival that attracts worldwide celebrities. The most famous names from the silver screen are immortalised on the entrances to changing rooms lining the wooden, beachfront boardwalk – the Promenade des Planches.
The beach itself is a long stretch of golden sand overlooked by exclusive residences, luxury hotels and the chic casino which is most spectacular at night. As you would expect of such a resort, Deauville also has a golf course, marina housing fancy yachts, and a racecourse. Some of France’s largest horse training facilities are here, and the surrounding area is full of thoroughbred studs.
One of these was once owned by the Strassburger family who lived in one of Deauville’s most beautiful houses – the Villa Strassburger. Its half-timbered elements and multi-angled roof are typical of the town’s architecture. Other similar examples include boutique shops and the Hotel Normandy, a historic property now owned by the Barrière group who also run the elegant Hotel Royal overlooking a seafront park.
In addition to these 5-star hotels, Booking.com offers holiday homes near Deauville Airport, and cheap apartments by the train station which also serves the Parisian Riviera town of Trouville across the River Touques.

A beautiful, very upmarket seaside resort. If you are going to get run over in Deauville, it will probably be by a Ferrari or an Aston Martin! A great beach with a beautiful boardwalk. Deauville is a vibrant town with a vast choice of great restaurants and shops. The beach is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. Trouville is a 15/20minute walk again a vast choice of restaurants, the fish market is great and gets very busy. The horse racing is great in Deauville with two tracks one within walking distance, the other just a cab ride. There is also an equestrian centre which host various levels of competitions. The staff at the hotel very helpful especially Emilie on the reception and Jean-Francois who runs the restaurant.BarbaraUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Please watch the intake of water. There are not alot of places to use the restroom. The beache is nice and fills up quickly. Parking is very tight so if you can walk from a far that would be your best option. Bring your necessities (towel, water, sun screen snacks, sanitizer and toys for the kids).

Stunning beach town with incredible architecture. Great market and high end shops. Recommend the Brasserie de Marie and il parusole. Other restaurants great but very pricey-although the duck at La Flambée is worth the visit. Trouville across the bridge is also outstanding as is Honfleur down the roadJeffers76United Kingdom

The apartment is situated in the center of Deauville (right across the street from the wet market) and a quick 10min walk from the train and the beach. The apartment is well stocked and decorated, windows keep out the noise from the main square. I enjoyed my stay immensely and highly recommend this property for anyone traveling to Deauville. The apartment and the location are just perfect. Large and nice balcony, well-equipped kitchen, calm street, no noise, comfortable beds. A lot of bars, restaurants and bakeries nearby. The host is very responsive and very kind.

Staff have always been incredibly helpful. Breakfast is very good. Underground secure parking is a bonus although there is plenty of public car parking on the quay opposite. Loads of great restaurants within walking distance.
