Aix was a beautiful and historical place. Every corner is breath taking. It is a stress free environment. We just wondered on foot and enjoyed every minute of it.
Buses to various different places such Avignon is within walking distance in the historic area and the schedule is very frequent. Kiosk personnel are friendly and accommodating.
We enjoyed the markets and was able to purchase a Provencal table cloth sewed by a local lady.
Equally enjoyable was people watching while dining and enjoying Rose (the specialty of Provence) in an outdoor setting by Aix main street, Cours Mirabeau

A great place to visit, steeped in history with plenty of restaurants, bars and individual shops in the old town.
Visited Cezanne's studio and soaked up the atmosphere.
Ate amazingly well.........however it appears that the local French have forsaken their own native cuisine for Italian as there are no end of Pizzerias and burger establishments.
Search and you will find. Probably the best filet steak I've had since living in France for the last eight years was at the 'Cafe Grillon'....excellent fare.
Parking is a nightmare and the roads surrounding Aix at peak times are to be avoided.
A brilliant place for a long weekend........leave the car behind as you won't need it whilst there.
If you do take your car, take a trip to Remy de Provence and Cassis. You won't be disappointed.

Aix-en-Provence is a living tapestry, where historical elegance meets contemporary charm. Walking the Cours Mirabeau was like stepping into a painting, alive with cafes and shaded by plane trees. Cézanne's spirit is palpable, especially in his preserved studio. The local markets are a feast for the senses, offering specialties like the delightful Calisson d’Aix. Aix is more than a destination; it's a taste of the true Provençal spirit.
Rating: 5/5 - Unforgettable and rich in culture, Aix-en-Provence is a city that deserves to be on every traveler's list.

Aix was a lovely city - busy and vibrant.
Aix was a lovely city - busy and vibrant. Lots of lovely squares and loads of restaurants, none of which we found to be especially good. Think we would have had to spend a lot of money on a good restaurant. We had hoped to visit other places by public transport, but that was not easy.

A beautiful and grand hotel, with very beautiful gardens but still very close to the centre of Aix - a real oasis of calm and tranquility. All of the staff are incredibly warm, efficient and thoughtful. Wonderful restaurant for dinners, and breakfast outstanding (especially the fruit salad and cappuccinos!) We were travelling with our labrador, and she was given as warm a welcome as we were, and provided with a cushion and bowls in our room. An absolutely lovely visit to Aix, thanks to Le Pigonnet.
well situated within Aix. easy walk to all spots. did not check out the spa or pool, but they have both. 2 restaurants and a bar in the lobby.
nice hotel. the Staff was Amazing!!! from the valet to the bellboy to the receptionist to the bar attendant to the housekeepers. all gave me amazing service. special mention to Pierre the concierge and the wonderful valet who welcomed me to the property. so sorry I forgot his name. he helped me with the blue Renaud Clio.
Good value for money hotel and part of a chain. A good location for the town and there was free parking and an easy bus service into the centre of the old Aix....taking about 10 minutes.
The rooms were clean and perfectly serviceable for a short stay, the beds wonderfully comfortable. Staff very friendly. Added bonus of a restaurant, if you didn't wish to eat in town. Good menu which included a combination buffet which was great and such a variety.

We were fortunate to book the last available room in this lovely boutique hotel right in the center of Aix. Friendly, helpful staff. Thanks to them, these two older guests did not have to carry heavy bags 62 steps up to the top floor room! We had a small but comfortable room with everything we needed. The street was quiet enough that we could sleep with the windows open. We even had a little picnic one day in the hotel’s pleasant little garden.
I love this hotel and if I return to Aix, this is the only place I would consider staying. It is quiet and peaceful, and it's the best location possible for easy access to Cours Mirabeau, the outdoor markets, and all the sites. I absolutely loved it!
Laurena at the front desk, who is the manager, is top-notch. She arranged taxi service for me twice and was so helpful and welcoming. I felt so well looked-after with her at the helm.
Reception staff was amazing. We felt welcome and looked after. The hotel is located within 5 minutes walking distance from the pedestrianized city centre. Parking was free over the weekend. Room was simple, basic but clean. There was a garden and above all a superb breakfast. I had the best bread, french cheese and coffee. Breakfast was included in the price and was equal to a 5 star hotel.
The rooms were very comfortable and there was no noise at all. Everything was clean and the toilet had everything we needed, The staff at the reception was super nice. Even if the hotel is not at a walking distance from Aix-en-Provence, there were restaurants and shops nearby and it is very near the motorway, which helps if you don't want to make a long stop.
The hotel is easy to drive too, just off the autoroute and with good car parking.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and many spoke good English.
The restaurant was good, a short menu but food well prepared and nicely presented. Breakfasts were also very good.
The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from Aix old centre and is also on a bus route into town.
The hotel is brand new and located in the old town of Aix. The rooms are super comfy and well equipped. The staff is really nice and helpful. The rooftop looks nice although we could not test it as it was raining
Beautiful boutique hotel
A close short walk to old town but quiet
Excellent breakfast with outdoor patio
Staff is very helpful and friendly
Aix is beautiful and this is the best place in town to stay
La Bastide de Ganay is more a guest house than a Hotel with excellent breakfast, but no lunch or dinner options (best is to drive to Aix).
La Bastide de Ganay has 2 pools and is an extremly relaxing place.
The atmosphere around the hotel, it's very quiet and surrounded with trees and nature. Feels very peaceful, and it's just a 15min drive from Aix-en-Provence. The rooms are clean, spacious and silent!
The hotel is in a great location, the bus stop close by takes you directly into the centre of AIx-en-Provence, the hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff were great. Will definitely stay again.
It was perfectly functional apart from the AC, wonderful location in beautiful Aix old town. The owner was quick to respond to help get the AC working.
