It is a charming city with kind people.
We visited Maxinge shopping center and ate one of the best pizzas in a long time in a Diablo pizzeria, which felt authentically Italian (from one that grew up on Italian) in so many ways. A trip would have been worth it just for it.
Many lovely places for charming walks around the city and area.

Aland is a great place full of nature.
Aland is a great place full of nature. Mariehamn is nice, but I mostly enjoyed the nature. My favourite place in Mariehamn was the vista point from Badhusparken. Further, I visited Saltvik, Kastelholm and Eckerö, all reachable by bus from Mariehamn.

There are not too many tourists in Mariehamn.
There are not too many tourists in Mariehamn. In many places, menus and other brochures are only in Swedish, and for tourists it would be good to have the information in English as well.
There are many good swimming spots.

The nautical museum and ship Pommern are well worth a visit.
The nautical museum and ship Pommern are well worth a visit. The cultural museum is also interesting. Lots of attractive wooden houses and enjoyed walking in the parks and along the seaside. 1 1/2 days was perfect. Excellent meals at Indigo and Park restaurants where I had local perch and local lamb.

I visited during weekend.
I visited during weekend. It was surprising that all the shops cafes etc closed on saturday at 4pm and didn't open at all on sunday. So it was really quiet and there were literally no one in the city center. And basically not much to do.

It's a great spot for a weekend getaway.
It's a great spot for a weekend getaway. While there, you must cycle around the marshes, visit the Museum Ship Pommern and dine at Indigo! If you can, take your cycles with you or rent cycles there. Do not rely on public transport, especially during the weekends. The frequency is extremely low.
Park Alandia Hotel is a perfect hotel ! The stuff is very kind and efficient; check-in and out were very fast. The room was perfectly clean and quiet. The room´s interior design was nice and cozy, but also very practical, there was everything one needs. Location of the hotel is excellent, the surroundings of the hotel were pretty calm, eventhough it is located pretty much in the center of Mariaanhamina. We loved also food in the hotel´s Bistro restaurant. There is a free parking place in the back of the hotel.
This is one of the cleanest hotel/guesthouse I have ever been in! It's not fancy; the bathroom and showers are shared, and there is no air-con is but we are absolutely fine with it. Close to town, the ferry terminal, supermarkets and restaurants. The room comes with a simple breakfast and the our host, Tuija, was so kind and accommodating. Keep in mind it is not a hotel that has a 24/7 front desk person but any requests can be arranged directly with the host in advanced. We had a wonderful stay, overall.
Great breakfast buffet.
Hotel built originally in 1970's, renovated, different rooms somewhat different style, all very clean. Air conditioning unit in room.
Hotel staff approached in English, language skills variable (some did not speak Swedish, most did not speak Finnish). Service in Finnish style, brief but belpful and polite, no tipping expectations of course.
Location next to sea in the centre, you can walk everywhere. Biking recommended, have loaners, rentals near.
The staff there are so helpful. Because I arrive at 5pm by cruise in the morning and leave the next day 1am. So I ask the staff there help me try early check in.
The system don't work at first but the stuff just so helpful and eventually it works. Without the help from the hotel, my journey in Aland Island wouldn't be awesome with memorable story.
- Hotel has really good location as many shops and restaurants are in short walking distance as well the seaside.
- Breakfast was good and nicely set out & enough to select from.
- Personnel was very friendly and helpful and what ever you needed, they took care of that in the reception.
- Rooms were clean and renovated nicely.
Lobby and bar area very nice and modern. Very clean and fresh hotel. Rooms well soundproofed so could not hear anythibg from neighbours.
I got an early checkin free of charge, and a evening checkout for a reasonable price.
If you want a more fancy stay, Pommern would ve the right choice.
The food was okay. Everything else was below any reasonable standard. The building stinks and is badly hurt with moisture problems. I cannot understand how the Aland tourist authority and building controllers do not blow the whistle and demand the stop of this accommodation establishment.
The hotel is located at the best possible place for a hotel in Mariehamn. The breakfast was excellent, I already miss it! I was happy that also vegan options and local specialities were available. We enjoyed the two swimming pools and the sauna. The rooms were nice.
The hotel is located right next to the Maritime museum and close to the harbour - very practical for visitors arriving by ferry. Also, the walking distance to town centre was not too long. Very friendly staff. Comfy beds - and the kids loved the bathtubs!
The room itself was nice and offered all you really need. The location of the hotel in relation to the centre of Mariehamn was very convenient. Breakfast was fine, basic, nothing fancy. The guy at reception was polite and helpful.
Great location and easy to park at the hotel, either in hotel car park or free on street parking. Breakfast good, not huge choice but good quality and all you need for a good start to the day. Staff is very nice and helpful.
It was in a great location not too far from train station. You can take tram to hotel or walk. The staff was friendly and helpful. There's a nice restaurant and bar downstairs. Breakfast was great.
The location and the room were good.
The breakfast was quite basic but the quality was acceptable.
There is sauna and pool in the hotel which is very nice.
Worth staying at.
Very peaceful and quiet and a short walk to centre of Mariehamn. Apartment contained everything needed for the stay, good cooking facilities and also very good wifi.
