I visited this town many times and I find nothing new.
I visited this town many times and I find nothing new.
The radio-communication museum is excellent.
A short distance from this museum there is a little lake.
If the weather is hot a bathing/swimming there is the right
activity. (and after that, the cakes!)
From Patria there is a short walk to the Museum and my favorite mini lake.
There is a nice park with "dancing waters".
A visit to the harbour is interesting.

Lahti is only an hour from Helsinki.
Lahti is only an hour from Helsinki. We went for a triathlon but it would be great for anyone who loves the great outdoors. The 50m outdoor pool is a highlight and there are a lots of lakeside activities - we did paddleboarding. Lots of hiking options and the locals are extremely friendly and welcoming. The scooters (Tier) are excellent for nipping around the town and they are cheap too. There are lots of paths and cycleways so it is perfectly safe. You can also use bikes but they are a lot heavier and more expensive. The town itself is not too special but it is the open areas, the space, the countryside, the lake etc that make it a great destination. We hired a car from Helsinki airport and the driving to Lahti is easy with lots of options for parking too. We went in June and it was super hot - which apparently isn't normal! I think it would be excellent in winter with lots of winter sports available too.

We particularly loved the marina area.
We particularly loved the marina area. The restaurants on the waterside around Sibelius Hall were fantastic. There were excellent supermarkets and everyone was so friendly and helpful. We were also really impressed with how clean and tidy Lahti is.

I really like the architecture here.
I really like the architecture here. I lived in Stockholm for 7 years and often want to go back there to live, but the residential and labour market conditions make it hard. Lahti is a good alternative for me when I want to live the dream for a shorter time without having to take the long trip ti Stockholm.

I visited the ski-jump tower, I played minigolf, I went to a sauna and swam in a small lake, I was in the Sibeliustalo. They were all nice.
I ate most of the times at a vegeterian restaurant Lipterin.
It's easy to get around even on foot, but there are also local buses, which you can find on Google Maps. You can buy tickets for local transport from the application of LSL.

Lahti is a tranquil village by the lake with a beautiful scenery. It's ideal for hiking, cycling or spending a few days resting and charging your batteries. It's a small town but we took great advantage of renting a car to visit the surrounding area. There's not much to be had in terms of restaurants and what little there is... well, it's not their forte. The people are very friendly and welcome tourists of every nationality.
The little wooden huts inside the bigger industrial-feeling building really give the whole guesthouse an interesting vibe; I can’t say these two things really fit together, but it definitely is interesting;
Host was still very welcoming as I checked in very late;
Location is great in connection to transports - right besides the train station and within walking distance to city’s center;
I do appreciate the cozy-ness that the wood and the many carpets bring;
There are only a few hotels in Lahti so this one is the best. The location is excellent, on the main street of the town. The new part (the so called "Loft") across the street is beautiful but I stayed in the old part. The hotel has very good restaurants and the breakfast is also very good with cheerful service despite it getting very busy at weekend. The chromecast in the room actually functioned unlike in some hotels.
Property is located next to a city center, railway station. Everything you need can be found inside - towels, kitchen stuff. The sound of passing trains did not really bother us. It's hearable but not disturbing. We were only two people staying, so it was enough space for us. If it's a bigger company - might be problems with privacy, cause it's more of an "open space" accomodation.
Private rooms, with fridge, tv, linen and towels (hand towel and bath towel).
And the "plus" that brings me to Patria: when returning to the hostel at late afternoon
or evening, there are cakes. In the morning, there are still some cakes, to enjoy the
breakfast. (coffee, tea, milk and sugar all day long)
The price-value is high. It is a hotel for a hostel price.
Well appointed studio apartment with kitchen near the city center. Close to downtown shops and restaurants and about a 20 minute walk to the lakeside. Very friendly and responsive staff who met me when I arrived to provide the room key and show me the apartment. Nightly price made. It a good value when compared to standard hotel options. I hope to stay here again.
We liked everything. The apartment is nice, everything needed is included, convenient location. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances, coffee and tea. And Lahti is a very cozy Finnish city. Thank you Marie for a wonderful stay.
Well located hotel, within walking distance of the train station. Good staff, well maintained. Exceptional breakfast catering to every possible dietary requirement. Good, large rooms, with excellent wooden floors, plenty of light.
The rooms are nice and bright, its easy to et inside with the door code, the location is pretty close to the city center and there is everything you might need, TV, microwave, fridge, a small stove, table and chairs, a mirror.
Very cosy apartment, well-equipped and comfortable to stay in. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the train station and right in the centre of Lahti. The host was easy to reach and communicate with.
Hotel uncomfortably hot. Heating running in bathroom and could not be turned off and it was 32 degrees outside. A small fan was provided but just not sufficient. Hotel very run down. Staff were lovely though.
Excellent hotel! The location is in the central part of town. The staff is kind and professional. The buffet offered a large variety. The rooms were clean and the staff offered daily cleaning, if requested.
Good location, near to the train station and the centre of Lahti.
Simple and clean, breakfast OK,
supportive staff when locked out of the room forgetting the card inside...
Good location, friendly housekeeper, kindly offered the opportunity for late check-out to be able to wash after Finlandia Hiihto. Everything was there in the kitchen.
Nice, clean and comfortable apartment not far from the city centre. There is a store just a short walk from the apartment, so shopping is not an issue.
