We were there off season so it was a bit cold at night. The town doesn’t offer much variety in dining, mostly pasta & pizza. We gave up and bought food at the supermarket and ate in our room. Typical small Sicilian town supermarkets. Best to stop at a larger market in the city.
The drive up to view the Mountain was quite winding but not difficult and highly recomended.

Zafferana Etnea is a small village at the foot of the Etna...
Zafferana Etnea is a small village at the foot of the Etna volcano with easy access to the roads leading to the northern and southern parts of the volcano. A suitable place for ATV enthusiasts as well as for mountain climbing. Unique edible mushrooms grow in the area, which you can eat in the many pizzerias in the town. At the beginning of October, a festival is held in the center of this picturesque town, where you can try local foods, such as cheeses, meat products, sweets, honey, olives prepared in different ways, roasted chestnuts, fruits and many others. ..
There is also music, an amusement park, street food and many artisans from whom everyone can buy interesting things as a souvenir of this wonderful place.

What a beautiful nature. Please go with a guide that can tell you about the history of Etna and the surroundings.
If I were you, I would stay away from the touristic places.

Breakfast is incredible good. Hosting family is so helpful and generous.
Close by are many restaurants and bakeries so you will find many places for trying local food and drinks.
The city of Zafferana Etnea is perfect for day trips on the east coast of Sicily, as it is located in the middle between Etna (visitor's centre Etna sud is reached within half an hour by car) and the sea (e.g. Taormina can be reached within half an hour as well).
Very, very clean and new.
It’s a cozy accommodation, a family business. They were very welcoming, gave as recommandations about what to visit.
Even though italian breakfast consists in sweets they asked us everyday if we would like to eat something in particular, such as eggs or salty food. They bought as every morning traditional things from the near-by surroundings to be tried.
Claudia is an excellent hostess. As we had to leave the property early in the morning for an Etna Tour, she set up breakfast much earlier than usual just for us. The facility is very clean and well appointed.
This property is perfectly located for a North Etna tour. It is also very close to the village of Zafferana Etnea, a vibrant town with typical Sicilian restaurants.
The hotel is magnificent. The grounds are beautiful and the furnishing lovely. The breakfast was very good with fine coffee and delicious croissants and bread. They also have an array of gluten free products which is necessary for my wife. The dining room staff were charming and helpful
The hotel has great view over the sea. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are extremely helpful and very service minded. There is a nice pathway and garden from the main building to the adjoining restaurant. The city itself also contains some fine and nice restaurants.
I liked the stunning location but we did not have luck with weather so it was difficult to get a full sense of the hotel on a rainy day. Each room is different so feel depends on the room - we had two different rooms and we liked one much better than the other one.
Staff are friendly, breakfast is excellent and pool and wellness area are excellent. The hotel is on the route to Etna, from there it is 25 minutes to the cable car. The view from the hotel is impressive. On clear days you can see from Catania to Taormina.
The place îs fantastic, 30 min by car to Etna, fresh air, very kind host . The room was cozy, very good smell. We enjoyed The ponei vizibile from the kitchen. Breakfast was continental or italian. Parking free. Easy acces from The Main road.
Do you want to understand what Sicilia is? What people are living there? Go there! What a wonderful stay memorized forever! And a small notice for guys who are not ready - this is an awesome family stay, not a Hilton service hotel.
Nice and clean hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff especially at reception. Breakfast was very good with healthy food options. Nice outdoor pool. The location is very close to Etna and the surrounding area picturesque.
Comfortable beds, big and clean room and bathroom, very friendly und helpful stuff 😀 amazing tasty Italian breakfast with coffee und handmade jams, cake, panacotta etc. Very nice 👍
Location of this hotel is perfect for sightseeing Etna. It is just 17km away from Etna cable car. It has a warm indoor swimming pool and a decent sauna world.
