Salina is one of the most beautiful Aeolian Islands.
Salina is one of the most beautiful Aeolian Islands. It is well reputed for Malvasia wine and capers. The scenery is fantastic and the island offers good possibilities for a nice holiday.
There are good walking opportunities, a reliable bus service, great cafes and restaurants and some nice shops.

It’s simply wonderful - just the right balance of leisure, shops, restaurants, not too overcrowded (early September) so strolling around is very pleasant. Lots of trips and activities, friendly people. This is my second visit and I would highly recommend it

Beautiful town on the island of Salina.
Beautiful town on the island of Salina. We wished we planned our holiday so that we had a lot longer on this island. The pace of life is much more laid back in comparison to the main land of Sicily. It’s an ideal spot to base yourself if you want to explore the other islands too. We rented a scooter one day and explored the island - it was one of the best things we did in our whole holiday - it would be worth renting one for you whole stay. There are lots of lovely restaurants all around the island and lots of lovely spots to explore too.

What can I say about Salina that has not already been...
What can I say about Salina that has not already been written? Stay at Hotel Punta Barone in Maria Santa Salina and have delicious, quiet dinner at 'nni Lausta. Get a bus schedule and ride around (but not in the front, where locals chat with the driver). Go to spectacular Pollara (location of "Il Postino"), with a Hitchcockian ride down the twisting road to the village. After you down to the beach and back up again, relax with a drink at L'Oasi. Head to Malfa (the largest town and transit center), with beautiful little streets, and have a granito at the town center while you wait for your next bus. for panoramic views of the entire island chain, hike up Monte Fosse della Felci. Ride down to Lingua for a delicious lunch at A La Cannata. See the beautiful seafront desert park at Rinella. You will have a wonderful time.

The location was excellent, a short walk from the port and the main part of the town for restaurants and shopping in a quiet location. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast every morning was excellent (the freshly baked apple cake was so delicious!), and the host family and staff were all really helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again (for longer and in a room with a terrace next time) and will happily recommend this property to any of our family and friends who visit Santa Marina Salina in the future.
Manuela communicated excellently before I arrived and picked me up at the ferry. She provided an excellent breakfast, great recommendations, and a comforting stay. her property is beautiful and it far surpassed my expectations. any rating below a 10 is surely misplaced because the other guests I spoke with felt the same way as I did. I will recommend my friends to come to Salina to specifically stay with Manuela for a minimum of 4 nights to truly unwind and enjoy this magical island and B&B. thank you for everything!!!!
This was a wonderful place. We had a very nice room with a little balcony and a panoramic view of the sea, Stromboli and Panarea. It was immaculate. There are several terraces. You can always find sun or shade. The delicious breakfast was served in a room with a view in all directions. The hotel has a great location on the edge of town. Completely quiet except for the sounds of the sea but an easy 10 minute walk along the water from the ferry. The host was very friendly and helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer.
The bed was comfortable and the shower is nice and hot. The room was very clean. Although the B&B staff were not present throughout, the locals are helpful when asking for advice and guidance on hiking routes.
The island is gorgeous and as keen hikers we really enjoyed the stunning views that Monte Fossa Delle Felci had to offer. We also stayed in Lipari and definitely found Salina to be the stronger island for tranquility and views.
I Cinque Balconi is Ideally located within walking distance from the Porto Santa Marina. Rustic and clean room facing the ocean. We also picked lemons and mandarine from their garden! Shops all within walking distance. Hiked to Monte Fosse. Absolutely beautiful. The owner Johnny, along with his brother Massimo and staff member Diego, greeted us with open arms. 100% classy people! I highly recommend this property!
The place is spectacular. Dont bother searching for another place to stay. The views from the hotel are spectacular. Breakfast impeccable. Owner, Gorgina keeps the place impeccable, spotless and is known all around the island.
She will pick you up but renting a scooter (next to the petrol/gas station) is the way to go.
Ask her for best restaurant, best sunset bar, best trek...
We did not want to leave!
Salina is a wonderful island and this was the perfect base to explore it from (very convenient to get to from the port after arriving by ferry). We loved the elegant and eclectic style of the hotel (particularly the restored tiles) and having breakfast in the garden. We also had a meal at the restaurant downstairs and would highly recommend it.
Le Sette Vele Salina made our stay in Salina very enjoyable. The host Giancarlo was fantastic as was his staff. The location was brilliant with easy access to the heart of Salina. I recommend Le Sette Vele to anyone that wants to stay in Salina.
Looking forward to book there again.
Thank you Giancarlo for everything, you are a true gentleman
Lovely simple room with a great view close to the pedestrian street in Santa Maria de Salina. Easy parking on the street for our scooter and stone beach nearby. The best part was the host Angela, such a lovely woman. She had a way of explaining things in Italian so I could understand even though I don’t speak the language:)
Andrea as responsible for the Da Franco was great. Always willing to help. Walked the extra mile.
Good cook. Unfortunately the Da Franco restaurant was closed. End of Season, but I'm sure that the food being reserved is great.
Great view from the balcony on the sea and Lipari. Salina is a great island to visit.
A beautiful spot in the middle of Santa Marina with only 2 rooms. Martina and her mother are really friendly and have a lot of tips about what to do in Salina. The breakfast was amazing with most of the fruit, vegetables and eggs grown by the same family. We would definitely book this B&B again!
Martina and her folks are wonderful hosts and we felt like royalty here. The property combines traditional charm with all modern amenities. Can't say enough about the home made breakfast or the amazing rooftop terrace.
Might just be the best place on Salina.
Breakfast: Very nice, in garden on sunny mornings, inside very nice dining/ facility. Hotel and staff extremely helpful. A beautiful island, beautiful town, beautiful hotel, great restaurant, all good. Who would ever want to leave?
