A lovely clean little town located about a 2hr drive from Cape Town. Blown away with how well maintained the town is, with lots of little browsy type shops, coffee shops and restaurants. We didn't have time to hike but the trails looked great. Friendly locals. Located near to some wine farms as well.

Everything was lovely.
Everything was lovely. Excellent service, good facilities for kids. Children enjoyed the pools and play park. The astro turf for mini soccer and tennis courts are well maintained. The games room was not available for use due to a function, this was not ideal as it is part of the Montagu resort experience.and should always be open to its residents. The accommodation was reasonably comfortable and clean. The villa we stayed in is a bit dated. Generators should be used during loadshedding. All in all, a wonderful experience. I will definitely keep going back.

One of the most beautiful towns in South Africa, with mountains all round the views are beautiful throughout the year. The town has enough shops and restaurants for locals and tourists, but not so much that it becomes crowded (although I haven't been there during peak season). A good fusion between winelands and Karoo.

Montagu is a beautiful, clean and safe town.
Montagu is a beautiful, clean and safe town. We went for school rugby so did not get much time to spend sight seeing, but really enjoyed the natural beauty and friendliness of the towns' people. We had dinner at Mitchell's Pub and Grill....truly some of the most value for money and tasty rump steak I have had a very long time.

Beautiful old Cape town with many original buildings and points of interest. A walking tour around the town is pleasant as long as you steer clear of the main street and its surrounds, which are very shabby.
There are many choices of venue to have a meal if you are not fussy about food, but for fine dining you should try the Montagu Country Hotel's Charleston Restaurant.
The attention to detail was well thought of. Complimentary rusks were the best we have ever had. The farm fresh eggs were tasty and the Muscadel was a sweet treat for the end of the night. Henk was a superb host and made sure we got day passes at Gauna Caves which the kids enjoyed.
The unit is so beautiful and had everything one would ever need. Although we were close to town it felt isolated enough to unwind and recharge.
The best part of the stay was having full assess the farm grown veg and fruit.
We will definitely be back again.
So many little touches will spoil you during your stay. We planned a 2-night stay but wish we could stay a week. Amazing breakfast, super-comfortable bed & room, engaging hosts, local jerepigo wine & welcome gift on arrival, the most adorable garden & pool. Hosts have put together over a hundred suggestions of things to do in the area and so many are walkable - especially dining, bird blind & Montagu nature garden.
Quiet and peaceful little spot on a farm like setting with beautiful gardens. It really is the perfect spot to get away from everything. Amazing hiking trails close by and a swimming pool to cool off afterwards.
The facilities are spotless and include everything you need for a weekend away.
The staff are friendly and very helpful.
Would definitely highly recommend to anyone looking to recharge their batteries.
We book quite regularly at the resort. However, we do prefer to stay at Avalon Springs (Hotel). Everything is just awesome. Also, the way access to the hot pools was controlled by security, for those who were not residents at Avalon Springs - that was admirable. Avalon Springs really go the extra mile for their guest and it is appreciated. Definitely going to be booking soon again. See you soon!!
A delightful hotel with very attentive staff and an excellent restaurant that served delicious steaks and superb breakfasts. The rooms in the old hotel had a wonderful period feel and we felt we were part of the lovely town of Montagu. We experienced our first load shedding when we were there, but Bernie ensured it had no impact on our stay. Well done.
The location is very good in the center of Montagu. The hotel is a boutique hotel with nice design, a nice garden and pool. The check-in process was very good, the room spacious. All the employees were very friendly. Breakfast is served personally. We got good information on hiking options and a heritage tour in the hotel.
the property is incredibly beautiful - the early XX century house and the well maintained garden make a peaceful atmosphere to rest and relax. the owners of this place are very friendly and helpful with their tips. the breakfast is amazing.
the location is perfect for discovering the Montagu town.
a true gem.
The venue is beautiful. Tastefully done. Set in an olive farm and close to restaurants.
The hosts were great and very informative. Lots of hikes and bike routes around the beautiful town of Montagu.
Drive down the Koo Valley pass into Montagu if you can as it gives you an idea of the exquisite surroundings
Location very good close to everything. This is self catering so no breakfast. The accomodation is spacious and comfortable. Quite area and close to restaurants. The host was in contact throughout the the booking in and out process and friendly, efficient. The undercover and secure parking a big plus.
We loved everything, facilities was tops. We did not short anything that was not provided. We received all we expected and much more. We loved our stay and will most definitely return. We have visited a number of self catering farm facilities and this one rates tops of our stays.
Kogman and Keisie Guest Farm is a special place with botanical gardens and products with many possibilities. The rooms were outstanding as breakfast was. It was all fresh and biological. We felt really at home with a warm welcome from Rene. I highly recommend this place.
Great room in African rondel style. Very friendly hosts (including the cats). In a quiet neighborhood walking distance from downtown Montagu. Secure parking. Great breakfast.
