Location was beautiful and we liked the cottage. It was cold while there but normal for the time of year. It was unfortunately, too chilly to take advantage of the outsides seating and shower but this would have been lovely with different weather.
The location was gorgeous. We did the San art trail and ate at Travellers Rest. We would highly recommend both. We were able to buy some supplies there rather than going back to Clanwilliam.
We also took the untraced road to Nieuwoldtville, trip of three hours with return through Clanwilliamm (1.5 hours return). This is a gorgeous drive and stunning in flower season. The trip included time for a hike in the botanical garden in Niewwoldsville.

The hosts were true ambassadors of the Cederberg region, and spent a lot of time giving great advice on what to do and where to go. They made reservations at the local restaurant, Michael's on the Park, which was steps away. The restaurant was excellent, and very romantic. Beds were super comfy and the gardening and pool area were beautiful.

The town was quite shabby and needed a proper clean up.
The town was quite shabby and needed a proper clean up. The stores were serviceable and had the right merchandise for quick purchases. Garages appeared to be too close together. The roads to and from the town were wonderful and setting splendid. It would be a beautiful sight if the town could present clean buildings with fresh paint.

It is a wonderful little platteland town with stunning surroundings. The views of the Cedarberg Mountains is uplifting to one's spirit. Warm, hospitable people.
We dined at Bella Louise Restaurant and the setting was just perfect, all protocols duly followed, good food and friendly, helpful staff.
Clanwilliam is an easy place to get around and one would really have to go to great length to lose one's way.

Clanwilliam is looking rather unkempt.
Clanwilliam is looking rather unkempt. Many properties look as if they need a good dose of TLC.
There is not too much to see or do in Clanwilliam. Unfortunately for us, we had already been through Pakhuis Pass to TRavellers Rest and then via Biedouw Valley to Wupppertal to see where they make Veldskoene, but unfortunately, it was closed due to COVID infections.
The wild flowers were in proliferation in the veld wherever we looked. It was well worth the trip on the gravel road.
The unusal rock formations in Pakhuis Pass make the trip worth while. We made frequent stops to take photographs and simply gaxe at the splendour of the formations.
We had a most enjoyable evening at a restaurant - Michael's on Park. It is well worth going there if ever in Clanwilliam. Food was great, atmosphere was great and the venue is steeped in history.

Clanwilliam is the citrus capital of South Africa and a sweet little town with the famous big dam for water sports and camping and bass fishing, but its the gateway to the Cederberg mountain range and hiking , bouldering and for that its so amazing that very little can beat the nature experience, vast open spaces and mountain ranges, the rugged rocks and rock paintings.
The drive to Clanwilliam, took me through one of the most picturesque valleys I have ever travelled through, which culminated in a stop at the most gorgeous little oasis's that I have had the pleasure of staying in. From the reception by Magriet, the hot farm bread with butter and Jam, the ice cold mangoes freshly picked off the tree and last but not least, the wonderful gesture from Karen, an ice cold bottle of champagne for my wife's birthday. What an awesome, awesome venue, well appointed, homely, comfortable and quiet
Nelda was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. She advised us on things to do in Clanwilliam and went out of her way to get information on best spots to view the wild flowers.
The property met all my expectations and the thoughtfulness of providing fruit, milk, cereals, yoghurt, tea, coffee, biscuits for our arrival made it extra special. Many thanks Nelda for making our stay unforgettable. We will definitely be back. :-)
We were looking for somewhere to stayover for the night as were just passing through Clanwilliam. We opted for something not in the town and didn't really know where the property. To our joy we discovered it down a lovely gravel road near the town. We arrived as the sunset so had an opportunity to see the amazing location nestled into the mountains. Our little cottage was just lovely and right next to the river. Heaven!

The budget room with twin beds was all that was available when I booked. I thought it had a lot of amenities for a "budget" room. When one of the other guests cancelled, Enid upgraded us to another room with a beautiful fourposter-bed. We had a lovely stay, with a great breakfast and will definitely stay there again when in Clanwilliam.
I had a fabulous stay. It was very nice room with great decorations. It was spacious, quite and very clean. The host was very kind and gave great recommendations. There is a nice hike starting right from the property to some amazing rocks. The host even let me use his kayak on their large dam.
Recommended! I would come again.
Thanks Joanna for your warm welcome and a big thanks to Karen, who not only runs this guesthouse in a fantastic way, but also gives you all the personal advices you need to enjoy the most of your holiday here in Clanwilliam.
We stayed in the lovely Garden Cottage.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi and other facilities were generally great. We appreciated that the hotel noted our prior request for a room away from the street - they gave us a room at the back.
Really warm and friendly host. Bedroom most comfortable, with tea and coffee supplies and lovely rusks. Parking provided behind locked gate. Location within walking distance to our favourite restaurant in Clanwilliam.
Great family stay over night in Clanwilliam - enjoyed use of the premises - pool area with outdoor kitchen - great for our breakfast on the patio. Relaxed atmosphere. Karen our host was great and very attentive.
Excellent breakfast with a view of the Clanwilliam dam, Most gracious hosts; shared many interesting fireside conversations.
Fire lit at breakfast on a cold morning was extra welcoming.
It was quiet and comfortable and even though we had a crises ay home we had the internet access! Great jacuzzi! Walked to the waterfall and the kloof! Awesome!
The staff, hotel, facilities and food were all absolutely perfect - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this picturesque place and hope to return in the future!
