FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colorful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settlement process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside of Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

Cape Town is a vibrant city with the whole range of emotions - from extremely poor to very rich. As a tourist it is best to stay on the beach side of town where the boulevard is simply amazing. Kilometers long, very wide with all kinds of facilities offered everywhere. The exchange rate of the Rand is very favorable, making everything very cheap. Where can you buy a latte macchiato (a good one!) for less than $1.00? People are extremely nice and helpful. The roads are very good. The hop-on-hop-off bus is a very good option that also takes you to Table Mountain.

After our 2024 Global Entrepreneurship Congress + Africa, we were taken for dinner at the water front, where we mingled and discussed business in a relaxed manner. What I didn't like was that our flight was at 06 00 hours so we had to leave for the airport at 04 00 hours. There was not enough time to visit places in Cape Town. We had the privilege to meet The Cape Town Market Management who showed us how they conduct their business. We had alot to learn from them. Cape Town is my favorite city.

Beautiful and vibrant city, with loads of vegan restaurants with some really healthy choices. Use Uber much cheaper than hotel cars. Be careful holding things in your hands, we were warned several times about having a phone or a purse in your hand and the day before we arrived someone was mugged near to our hotel, which was a 5 star one. Visit the PENGUINS at Boulders Beach. Be aware that the Cape of Good Hope is a 3 hour round trip from the city (at least). check the weather as in high winds the cable cars get closed and you cannot go up table mountain.

Everywhere feels convenient when staying in Cape Town.

Everywhere feels convenient when staying in Cape Town. Always amazing restaurants nearby. The malls have everything you need. The beaches are beautiful and most beaches have rockpools nearby if people are afraid to swim in the waves. Public pools are available for people who do not like the ocean. Lots of sightseeing and tourist attractions. The hiking trails are amazing. Would definitely recommend Cape Town for your next trip

-Location is good, close to the city center and Waterfront even by 10-15 min walking. -The room is being cleaned every day. -Having an open, small patio area in front of the hotel is a nice option. There is always security but when you leave the patio especially after the sky is dark, it might be dangerous and full of beggars. -Breakfast is decent, 7/24 usable coffee machines on each floor is a good idea. They also offer water at the reception and the water is purified in the room so you can always drink it.

This is an amazing place to stay. It offers a well equipped kitchen, an heating and cooling system and a super clean home. This property is super clean, close to several shops and restaurants. It is just few minutes walk to the V&A waterfront and other beautiful places in Cape Town. It has a beautiful view of the city, especially at night, and I must say that the comfort, space and facilities makes it a better option than using the hotel. This is the second time we have stayed at the Table Bale Hotel in Cape Town and the location is wonderful, in addition to all the comfort it offers you, the breakfast is very tasty and the service is excellent. We would come back more often. Plus it's right next to the shopping mall with escalator access directly from the hotel. In addition to being practically inside the Waterfront, which facilitates many walks and access to restaurants and stores nearby.

Great stay after landing at cape town airport. hotel was easy to find and had good car parking facilities. Staff were excellent and very helpful and welcoming. Room was nice, comfortable and clean, the breakfast was really good, great choice and hot. The only downside was the external location, it was not as close to the waterfront as we thought and it seemed a bit risky to walk it as a tourist. but apart from that a great stay.

Excellent breakfast, spectacular view from balcony, and the best location in the Waterfront. So easy to get on the red city bus for a lovely experience of Cape Town. If you love nature and gardens, a visit to Kirstenbosch will be a highlight. We needed accommodation close to the Cape Town Marathon starting point and the location was perfect - barely 5 minutes walk to the DHL stadium. The location of Villa Capri is also perfect for walking to the V&A Waterfront (1km), Oranjezight Market (500 m) and the promenade just across the road. The apartment is very spacious, neat as a pin and we really appreciated the washing machine and tumble dryer.
