A good mix of independent and good quality eg M&S stores. The Coop was in a beautiful building. Many good restaurants and cafes. Good buses to the airport and around the island. Good place to catch ferries to other islands eg Sark, Herm and Jersey. Lovely architecture. Guernsey museum.

Nothing was too much trouble polite courteous staff.
Nothing was too much trouble polite courteous staff. Perfect in every way so much so I extended my stay over New Year. Unfortunately didn’t have a mobility room, wet room, but agreed for me to use the pool disabled facilities for which I was most grateful.
In fact the staff were so welcoming I felt like royalty.
The breakfast buffet was 1st class with so many options. I did have the full English breakfast one day only as the food wasn’t as hot as it should have been so ordered of the specials menu.

Public transportation was the best way to get to see most of the island. The restaurants were reasonably priced; look for Tenna Feast deals. The nightlife was great, with some nice late-night venues. It is rich in history and has some lovely architecture to see. If you like sea swimming, then the pools in the sea are fantastic.

A very very pretty place.
A very very pretty place. Lots going on, you could take a boat to Sark or Herm or even over to France. There were plenty of restaurants and bars and lots of shopping too. There is a castle there that you could walk to and a museum (you need to book for that) and even a historic library with activities for adults and kids to do. That was a hidden gem (was free) cos we had not booked the museum! and a bus terminus that could take you everywhere. The bus tickets were £1.50 flat fare so you could go really far if you wanted. We hopped on the bus to go to a few places. The bus timetables are very easy to read. It was very pedestrian friendly (although surrounded by hills!!).

St Peter Port was a small city and not as interesting as I expected. I did venture out an about. The weather certainly didn't help my visit. The day trips I took to Sark and Herm were FANTASTIC. I loved Sark.
The buses ran on time, but spent time waiting as they were not frequent.
Food near town was pricy, but there was a good restaurant at hotel near guest house, The Piette Hotel.
I was disappointed that Victor Hugo's house was closed.
Be careful where you eat - and plan as many places don't serve from 2 PM to 6 PM.
Old Government House is a beautiful hotel with excellent facilities. The view from the breakfast room/ brasserie was just gorgeous, overlooking the sea with Herm in the distance. Everything was beautifully kept and the staff were very helpful, particularly at reception, concierge and taking care of our car parking. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom quite luxurious. The hotel is literally a few minutes walk from the St Peter Port's shops, harbour and restaurants. We had a lovely stay.
A lovely clean hotel with character , staff were very friendly and helpful , the manager even drove us to another part of the island when a taxi couldn't be found, breakfast was always lovely and fresh with a great choice, and a lovely setting in the conservatory, a short walk into town, St Peter Port is Hilly so expect an uphill walk back, recommend booking room number 26 it had a lovely balcony which caught the sun all day long, thank you for a lovely anniversary stay
One of the nicest hotels I’ve been in. Comfortable and well maintained, the view of the lake from the breakfast room was amazing. Breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly. Our room was nice and bright with balcony, bed was comfortable, a good selection of in-room tea/coffee, bathroom large and clean. Plenty of parking spaces so we never had trouble parking. Had a lovely time and would not hesitate to go back in future.
The hotel is ideally situated on the coast, with superb sea views, yet is only 20 mins on a regular bus service to the centre of St Peter Port. The facilities are very good, the rooms are well kept and the public areas and grounds immaculately maintained. The staff are a well organised team, who work well together as a friendly group to make a stay here a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.
They are undergoing refurbishment and trying their best to upgrade. Good hanging space & excellent open shelving. The breakfast basket for the room was excellent:
Juice, corn flakes & a small glass bottle of milk, croissant, butter & jam & a yoghurt. Really convenient as a solo traveller.
Bus stops nearby. Walkable to St Peter Port in 10-15 minutes along the seafront.
I've stayed many times at Hotel de Havlet and more than happy to return. Great spaceous and clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Quiet rooms with good facilities. Pool and sauna are added bonus. Quality restaurant. Lovely views over the harbour and St Peter Port from the terrace and resturant. Definitely recommend. Prices vary, but can be a real bargain at times.
The spacious rooms and glorious garden give you a sense of calm and graciousness. The staff are wonderful, and have a personal touch towards their guests I would normally associate with very expensive hotels. There are plenty of waiters, so you are served immediately. The location is quiet at night, so you can sleep.
The hotel is lovely and is everything you could want. Location, for me, was excellent and my room was perfect for what I needed. The staff are very polite and friendly, there is really nothing particularly to dislike although the cooked breakfast could have been better. I will definitely be staying here again.
The location was brilliant for my needs. I haven't anything negative to say, except I found it strange needing to call 0 to have milk brought up for tea and coffee. Milk is normally provided in most hotels alongside the sachets. I didn't want to put anyone out just for milk so didn't bother asking for it.
Plenty of room in the bedroom king size bed great view it was the premiere room in the hotel to dress in areas separate toilet separate bathroom with bath and shower double sink. Supplies slippers dressing gowns tea coffee water and sparkling water what more could you want.
The location if the hotel is exceptional with a view over the bay and the islands of Herm and Sark. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were good, with the extra bonus of cakes and desserts that are out of this world.
Good breakfast with staff always available and eager to serve everyone. We had a room at the top with great view and we could walk to St. Peter Port easily. The room was clean.
Location was very central for St Peter Port. Room was small but adequate (but no drawer space). Bathroom spacious. Staff were very helpful and courteous.
Loved the breakfast delivered in a basket. I hope they continue to offer this post Covid. This guest house is very conveniently located to St. Peter Port
