Wonderful very friendly place in a great rural location. Nice pool, lots of wildlife about including monkeys and frogs, hummingbirds and toucans. Great view from the restaurant/bar out over the lake. A couple of pool tables, air hockey and board games about helped towards creating a marvelous bohemian family atmosphere which we loved.

Sergio is the best host ever! He is so passionate about his place and super welcoming and helpful! Beautiful sunset! Impressive Ceiba Tree!! Countless Birds and Howler Monkeys!! Close to the lake. Great Location and Bteakfast was good too! We would 100% stay again!! We had one of the Superior Rooms and it was well worth it. Beautiful Room with 2 beds, lots of space, private Balcony and Garden Views. Thank you Sergio and the best of luck!!!

Tilarán is such a beautiful town located in the mountains by Lake Arenal. It's charm lies in the fact that it's less touristy than the surrounding towns, so you are able to escape during your escape. It's a perfect location for lake activities/excursions and there are great places to stop for coffee or a meal. We stayed at Playa Tila and have nothing but great things to say about it! Tilaran is a super nice and authentic local's town in the mountains directly by beautiful lake Arenal, less touristy than La Fortuna and Arenal. In "Tila" you'll find everything you need for your convenience: Local shops, supermarkets, a nice gym, etc. It's a great base for all kinds of excursions, i.e. around the lake (paddleboard, kayak, catamaran, jet ski, windsurfing, kite surfing...), bicycle tours in the mountains, yoga retreats, etc. Most fun place to stay in Tilaran: Playa Tila!
