Poltava is a medium-sized city.
Poltava is a medium-sized city. It doesn't boast incredible architecture, fascinating buildings or unbelievable food. I ended up here by pure chance, but it turned out to be a pleasant one. The people here are very hospitable and kind. There are places with great food, there are cinemas and a couple of museums. But I don't see the point of staying longer than 3-4 days. Whether I would come back here again just for tourism is unlikely. Poltava is more valuable to me because of its historical significance, but no more. The city seems to be poorer than some other Ukrainian cities we traveled to. It looks like it doesn't have a budget to keep it in good condition. Burned buildings right in the center. Dark streets at night. Overall so so

Poltava is a friendly city with some interesting museums, monuments, and other sights. There are several restaurants and cafes where you can try very traditional (and very Poltavan) cuisine, as well as other international fare. For upscale dining, try Concrete Bar (and avoid Liliya which is popular for large events but not ideal for a solo traveler or small groups). Both Shade restaurant and Shade Burger are award-winning restaurants with tasty food. Make sure you try every variety of galushka when you are in this city since it is the most famous tradition of the city. There are many historical markers as well as an outstanding museum about the important Battle of Poltava.

Was very surprised by cleaning service provided, but not sure if it is a good idea to hide trash bags in the locker (had to ask for them the cleaning lady). The bathroom and the apartment itself were much more cleaner than you can see in other reviews - I have no any remarks to the tidiness overall. In general, for my semi-working trip I am satisfied on 100%.

They treat their guest as relatives at worst. Fast wi-fi through multiple routers around the place, because of a skype presentation, asked to check-out 1 hour later and my wish was immediately granted. The place is for sure cleaner than some hotels I was unfortunate to visit.
