Our room was extremely large, clean and well appointed. We had the most amazing views of the snowcapped mountains that were right out our sliding glass doors. It was a convenient location in this very small town.

An amazing hostel and location! It reminded me of the hostel in Liechtenstein - well cleaned and spacious for each person. Massive kitchen area with proper recycling bins. Absolutely loved the quiet area and access to the sauna was just amazing after the hikes! Great for stargazing too!
The rooms had enough space for luggage storage and curtain to avoid disturbance.
Haka house provided shower gels, shampoo and conditioner in all their bathrooms which was great!

The facilities were great. Lots of space to sit for dinner, great views of Aoraki/Mount Cook from the dining area. The location is awesome, only an approx 30 min drive to the park and the walk down to the lake is also very nice.

A must stay location for Mt Cook! It is remote and away from all the crowd which makes it more peaceful and scenic. So much history at the location with a little museum on the property. It is run by a very kind and lovely family. I felt right at home and safe. Absolutely loved the walks around the property, the animals and watching the sunset and sunrise. I can't wait to come back and recommend it to others.
Towels were provided and the bathroom was spacious.The outdoor area was great to eat, read a book or just watch the sunset.

We did a 19 day road trip around the lower North Island, and Mount Cook Village was my favourite place to stay. Id love to go back again some time. Sadly for us due to being delayed due to issues with the interislander we only got to stay here for one night. We took an amazing scenic flight and landed on the Tasman glacier. We had the perfect day for it. The smorgasbord restaurant at the Hermitage was fantastic, one of the better smorgasbord's Ive had. Being able to see the glacier from the top part of the village. Our fantastic day trip to Lake Tasman to get close to icebergs and and the glacier at one end of the lake. (not the glacier seen from the village).

The village is located in an amazing place. If are self catering while in the village you will need to bring your supplies with you. There is very limited grocery items for sale. There is limited accommodation at Mount Cook village and it is all expensive. There are many well marked and maintained paths from the road end which allow walks off between one hour and six hours to be safely undertaken. There are no shops or independent restaurants or food outlets, unless you are self catering, you will have to eat in the expensive hotels. The most economical way to visit would be by Campervan bringing all of your supplies with you The self catering options are limited to the motel, which is in my opinion, overpriced for the accommodation it offers.

I did not like Mt Cook Village at all. Hard to get around. Nowhere to buy food or snacks and restaurant closed during the day. Inflated prices. I think our experience would have been much better but unfortunately the weather was dreadful and hence we had no views and were unable to do our planned walk. All in all it was a very disappointing experience.patriciaAustralia

We had booked a 2 bedroom villa - excellent views of the snow capped mountains, very friendly reception staff , easy to pick up keys even a little late, car parking in front of the villa. The house is well insulated , irrespective of the temperatures outside. Comfy beds, neat, clean , daily service provided . We didnt go to the restuarants so cant comment on those . The best was the jaccuzi -most relaxing after the trek.VIDHIYAIndia

I booked a room with a view of Mt Cook which might not be the perfect view within this hotel. The breakfast exceeded my expectations and is so delicious. The service in the buffet is also amazing.
