Our hosts recommended Apertivo - spectacular. Also they recomended Roadrunner - incredible new Vineyard Restaurant! Clareville has an amazing cafe also - not far from Greytown...

We visited Greytown for a garden ramble which we enjoyed. The town tends towards high end customers and is perhaps expensive for many. The heritage features make it appealing as a visitor choice and it’s central locality suits it to being a hub for your visit.

Easy walking around the town.
Easy walking around the town. Very pretty small country town. Lovely shops and eateries. Very friendly people. We were made to feel very welcome wherever we went. Handy to many short beach locations ie:
Castle Point lighthouse, Lake Ferry, Cape Palliser, Martinborough and surrounding districts for wine gin and olive tastings.
Great supermarket in Greytown.

I had been staying at Castlepoint but needed more time in the area to explore the shopping in Featherston and Greytown. There is so much to do and see that I would have liked to be there longer. I was impressed with the helpfulness of the staff in the two towns who pointed me in the direction of the places I wanted to visit. Great dining and shopping in Greytown and Featherston and plenty of day walks nearby.

(a) No quiet area away from the bar/restaurant that you could use your laptop (for business or leisure) in reasonable privacy (NB: our small bedroom could not accommodate a small table or other to use)
(b) TV too high to watch comfortably especially for the bed on the right hand side of the room, which had part of the lower screen blocked out for viewing - solution: possibly lower the shelf by 3 to 500 mm?
Everything! On arrival met by our delightful host Cherry, who was always available if advice/help was required. The accommodation exceeded our expectations for comfort and anything we could possibly have wished for. Fridge, breakfast food, view from the windows~~~ wonderful. Easy short walk into the main street of Greytown. Delightful variety of shops and places to eat, in this small town which takes pride in its cultural heritage. Our 2 night stay was not long enough.
A long Cook Strait ferry delay saw us arriving into Greytown at 1am, very tired. Our spirits were so revived when we saw how lovely the Greytown Loft is. Plenty of space, great bathroom, comfortably and sumptuously decorated. Everything we needed, and more, was provided to make our breakfast the next morning. Quiet and private but super handy to the lovely Greytown village and short drives to other Wairarapa towns. A lovely stay.
I was lucky this little gem had a cancellation about an hour before I booked. It was a busy weekend and Greytown was booked out! The Hidden Gem was everything it advertised - lovely hosts; clean comfortable accommodation with everything you need and your own entrance; great breakfast and an easy walk to town. I was even given some of their delicious cherry tomatoes!! Thank you both so much. Would definitely book again.
Greytown itself is just such a pretty quaint little town & when we got to the White Swan we had actually driven for 9 and a half hours & were shattered. We were greeted at reception by a pleasant, efficient lady. Our room was fabulous. It was nice to have the balcony which we had our dinner on & inside was a great tub for soaking in after a hell journey & cute nook for coffee tea facilities & much needed wine glasses.
Great location in a lovely little character town - Greytown. Good pub - great food and atmosphere - just up the road - and good cafes nearby.
Host supplied extra's - chocolates, cereal, fruit, real coffee - and the space and decor were luxurious - a delightful getaway and would highly recommend!
Beautiful room and ensuite overlooking the lovely garden. Very comfortable. Excellent location for walking to Greytown shops and restaurants. Friendly, helpful hosts - many thanks for helping with our laundry. It was very hot in Greytown and we appreciated the fan and heat pump to cool the room.
Terrific stay in a really cosy, tidy and well furnished property which is very close to the town center. Plenty of space for four people. Zoe was welcoming and handover of the key was easy. Would totally recommend for a short stay in Greytown.
We liked the historical touch of the building and its garden set up.
We also loved the common facilities to all guests and the very familiar atmosphere of welcome and being taken care of.
We warmly recommend this place for a stay in Greytown.
Great location, very peaceful and close to Greytown. The best part was the wine, bacon and eggs and bread waiting for us on arrival. The pod coffee machine was handy too. A beautiful space, super comfortable, highly recommend.
Location was great, easy walk to the main street of Greytown. Place was a clean, tidy and modern space. Wifi worked well, kitchen facilities were great and overall a comfy and enjoyable time spent here.
It was very cosy and well appointed. The gardens were beautiful and the cottage quaint. There was a lot of good information about Greytown supplied and the host replied very quickly to queries.
Central Greytown location. You couldn’t get more central. Friendly staff. Quiet. Close to supermarket, shops, cafes. Super clean ( and was cleaned during our 2 night stay).
Amazing Staff with excellent service, Rooms were very clean and tidy. The location of the lodge is perfect if you are visiting Greytown for Christmas festival.
