It was noisy. Couldn't get much sleep. People knocking on the walls and because of that I had to go another motel because I wanted my dog to be with me. There were always issues. It was not a good fit for me because I enjoy my privacy and don't like people in my business. That's just me

Motel 6-Gastonia Charlotte I-85, hotel in Gastonia

Located off Interstate 85, this pet-friendly hotel features laundry facilities. Free Wi-Fi is provided to all guests. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is 25 minutes’ drive away.

We stayed at a great many budget hotels and most of them are nowhere near as clean and spacious as the room we were given. Honestly we have never been disappointed with a Hotel 6, and this was no exception.

Quality Inn, hotel in Gastonia

Rodeway Inn is centrally located in Gaston County and is within a few minutes’ drive from Belmont Abbey College. It offers a continental breakfast buffet and rooms with cable TV.

The clerk was very friendly and the room was a good price for one night. I was treated with respect and was told if I need anything to let him know. I asked the clerk to sweep my floor. He didn't hesitate and got on it right then. This is a nice hotel. They are doing great job at trying to make sure that you are comfortable and feel safe.

    I'm from this city.

I'm from this city. I was there to help a friend get moved back into his home. I'm a little disappointed at how run down it seems to have gotten. But it appears they are trying to revitalize. Gastonia's location to mountains and Charlotte is great. They have a wonderful museum and some awesome parks for hiking etc. It offers plenty of restaurants and shopping.

When we arrived at the motel, we observed a police officer...

When we arrived at the motel, we observed a police officer parked across the street. In talking with a tenant by the office, we were told they are constantly present at the motel. The person who checked us in was very polite and courteous, but as we were walking to our room, we noted a strong odor of cigarette smoke and marijuana throughout. The room we were assigned was ajar, and smelled the same. When we went to advise the office of our intent to leave, the sign on the door said closed, however there was a person at the desk doing some type of transaction. When we asked for a refund, we were told to ask for Max (general manager, on Monday. After talking to the general manager, Cassandra, we learned that Max was only an assistant manager. She promptly took care of this for us. The customer service rep at Booking.com, was also very helpful. In conclusion, I highly recommend only potentially a single male (no families) stay here at this location.

I liked the idea of having a hotel downtown where I could walk around and visit shops and restaurants, etc. There wasn't really much to see downtown but driving around Gastonia was very picturesque. We enjoyed Tony's Ice Cream and Pita Wheel. I would totally recommend the Barrister Restaurant at the Esquire hotel. It was A+.

We stayed in Gastonia because everything else was booked for the weekend in Charlotte (our true destination). Gastonia is a quiet town on the outskirts of Charlotte, and although we did not do go sightseeing there, it seemed like a typical residential community.

Room was decent but bed spread was dirty and had holes from cigarette burns but the room was a non-smoking room. NO one including the staff wore masks. The door lock didn’t work to my room and I basically had to prove to the attendant by going back and forth to the room 3 times before she even offered to help me get into the room I paid for. The batteries in the door lock were dead. Also the attendants kept talking about calling the police on a guest there which frightened me. They should have talked privately about that. Very unprofessional. Hotel was ok but staff needs an overhaul.

The breakfast is provided by what appears to be a cafe concession in the hotel basement which definitely could have a good vibe as a venue, the food is decent enough, indeed much better than expected, but most importantly they serve real coffee! you can get a really good espresso in a proper china espresso cup etc and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel was very clean, we loved our room, we had a lot of space and needed it being there for five days. We were happy with the location and the breakfast was so much better than we expected! I know it may sound crazy raving over a hotel breakfast, but this facility did it right! The staff, with the exception of the laundry folks, were outstanding!
