A beautiful, quaint, artsy little town with a super little downtown area to wander and explore. Great restaurants and gift shops. If you're not used to driving on treacherous mountain roads just take it slow and easy, and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Go into town, park the car and let your feet wander around to all there is to offer. My husband's only disappointment was that we didn't see any bears, lol!

    Our stay here was wonderful.

Our stay here was wonderful. The hotel was clean everywhere and beautifully furnished. The view from our room was spectacular. The bed was comfortable with different thicknesses of pillows ( Me- puffy, my husband- not as fluffy) The shampoo and conditioner were very nice. I liked everything about our stay. Only one small thing, the hot water pot tasted like coffee.

A fabulous little town and a great place to get some head...

A fabulous little town and a great place to get some head space. Lots of art and craft shops, plenty of places to eat. However, if you are looking for something simple, I struggled to find such. Lots of places of interest in or around the area. It is all very clean, no litter, and the locals clearly take a good deal of pride in their town. Everybody seemed very friendly, nobody was trying to hurry you. Crossing the roads can sometimes be a bit of a gamble, so keep your wits about you. I would recommend taking a walk to the nearby Tomahawk Lake. The houses on the roads leading to it are magnificent, as are those surrounding the lake itself.

Go to Milton’s for dinner! Enjoy the views and serenity and walk around the cute little town. There are tons of great restaurants and breweries and it’s a nice and peaceful place for a weekend getaway.

I won’t be back. No longer a lovely mountain town.

I won’t be back. No longer a lovely mountain town. Now an artsy tourist trap. If you would enjoy traffic congestion, 30 art galleries, overpriced food and VERY pleasant people then this is the place for you.

Place was listed as a B&B - was more expensive than some other hotels in area, expected breakfast with stay, but had only cup of coffee in the morning and ran out of cream. Owner/host was only seen on check-in and at check-out. Room was nice; there was no TV or radio, no outside seating. Grounds were neglected.

Ok so first and foremost this isn't a high end hotel which honestly I don't care to stay at. But I had a nightmare few days being stranded in the mountains due to my car tearing up christmas eve. I found this hotel the price was amazing the owner was o polite and caring. Check in and out was an absolute breeze. The rooms could use some touch ups but other than that they was clean comfortable and everything. This place was a god send. I would stay there again.

Check in was quick and efficient. Staff happy to engage if you want a small conversation. Staff very pleasant. Room clean and tidy. Hotel is located at one end of Black Mountain, but within easy walking distance. Bed was comfortable. Tub was of a size that you could soak (important to us Brits!) Dollar General nearby for things you may have forgotten. Microwave and fridge all working. In the main, quiet, not paper thin walls.

The time period of the house uniqueness and the grounds were beautiful. It was what I was expecting for an inn that was 200 years old. The Black Mountain town was great, shopping & food. I'd go again to go to Goldfinch & Bush Farmhouse restaurant. We went to a concert at a local venue. The Inn was perfectly in the middle from the venue & town.

We loved this comfortable and homy feel. We stopped for one night on our way back to SC and it was the Prefect place to unwind a little after a few hotels. The pup especially loved the yard. I hope to be able to stay again but for longer. I absolutely loved the huge bathroom with plus size friendly shower and rub. 😁

The area was wonderful with lots of homelike aesthetics, the hotel was an antique and very special! A lot of old architecture you could see in the hotel which made it better. The room was very nice indeed.

There was no breakfast. The location, while up some winding roads, was actually not bad. The town of Black Mountain is convenient & has groceries, gas, a couple of restaurants & some cute shopping places.
