Great little town but like many towns in the US it is dead...
Great little town but like many towns in the US it is dead commercially. However there is a very interesting Civil War Museum run by an individual who is a memorabilia collector. He has created a very interesting little museum packed with all sorts of weapons, equipment, clothing and documents from the Civil War era. There are all sorts of retail outlets and eateries outside the town, but i am always dismayed that there isn't a civic support for bringing businesses back into the centre of small towns and cities. Its the same in Lafayette LA, Chanpagne-Urbana IL and Clarksdale TS. The town centres are dead.

The historic area we were in was extremely impoverished. The area was filled with abandoned and run down buildings. The downtown area wasn’t bad, but everything else surrounding it was beyond terrible. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were renovated at some point recently, not the best job, but quite acceptable. Comfortable and clean, with lots of space. The casino was moderate sized, but the dealers at the tables were fun and friendly. Made playing 21 or poker much more fun because of their personalities.
