A really pleasant town, with lots of historic character. yet...
A really pleasant town, with lots of historic character. yet also not over-reliant on tourism due to non -intrusive naval dockyard. Excellent centre for touring the beautiful surrounding countryside and sights.

I'll definitely be coming back to Bath.
I'll definitely be coming back to Bath. It's close to Bowdoin College and to the music festival, and has a smaller, more intimate feel than Brunswick. It's a Mecca for bookstores, especially used and antiquarian book shops.

Great town homes are huge and beautiful.
Great town homes are huge and beautiful. Lots of architectural designs to see. Prime reason was husband was in navy here so we visited the naval museum in Brunswick which is close to Bath. Many shops and restaurants and very walkable.

Bath is an old shipbuilding town with plenty of history.
Bath is an old shipbuilding town with plenty of history. The downtown area was charming with some nice shops and a few restaurants. Covid-19 was not kind to Bath as some businesses did not survive the reduction in visitors. The shipbuilding museum was fantastic and there are plenty of places to get some antiques and even some used books. The city lacks the luster of some of the other cities in Maine that are bigger tourist draws. With time and the injection of an improved business climate post-Covid it would be even better.

We went to Bath to see the Maine Maritime Museum.
We went to Bath to see the Maine Maritime Museum. It was excellent! We also enjoyed dining downtown at Maxwell’s and staying at Pryor’s B&B. We easily could have stayed longer had our itinerary permitted it.

Ate out often and the food was always good.
Ate out often and the food was always good. Had some excellent seafood at JR Maxwells, and some great burgers at Applebee's.
There was some road construction on one of the highways, but getting around was easy. Roads are well marked with signage to help you, plus we did have GPS in the rental.
Went to the Maritime Museum in Bath and took the boat ride up the river. You will probably need 2 days to go through the museum, but it is worth it. Don't miss the boat ride, either.
Pryor house exudes the character of Charming Bath along the river. Hostess Gwenda treats you like family, and the Inn is spotless and welcoming. Get out for a walk to explore this marvelous gem of a city a few blocks away, and take in all the pristinely preserved old captain's houses along the way. There could not have been a better way to experience Bath!
The breakfasts were delicious every morning. The host made a good variety of food. The room was very cute and comfortable. It was nice to come back to after a full day of touring the Portland area. The town of Bath is really quaint and very nice. This trip was just a getaway trip for me, and I was very pleased with the whole thing!
From the time we walked through the door everyone there made us feel at home. Wonderful stay all the way around! The room was exceptional, comfortable and spacious... the breakfast was top notch, the staff was so friendly and always going above and beyond. absolutely the best place to stay while in Bath/Brunswick area
What a glorious find! The property is tucked away in a quiet area of the beautiful historic town of Bath. The furnishings, decor, warmth, huge comfy bed - I could wax lyrical all day!
The best part is the incredible warmth of Gwenda our host. All in all the best BnB we have stayed at.
Centrally located. You can walk to the downtown. And very well kept. The room was sparkling clean. The owner is super sweet. She made an extra effort to make arrangements for vegan breakfast. One of the best stays! Would rate it 11 if possible.
The hotel was in a great location within walking distance of the high street of Bath, making it easy to go out for dinner. The room was large and comfortable. The staff were friendly. There was a reasonable choice available at breakfast.
Very nice family running the B &B. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was a very quick walk to the town of Bath with lovely stores, restaurants, and brewery. The breakfast was absolutely amazing.
Incredible breakfast and response to dietary needs. Appreciated suggestions for walkable restaurants. The recommended hiking at the Audubon nature preserve was a great way to end our visit to Bath.
