Property was very clean and outside area was perfect
Located in Bar Harbor, within 656 feet of Agamont Park and The Abbe Museum. Open since 1940, the property is within 984 feet of Frenchman Bay, Village Green and Criterion Theater.
Breakfast was simple but adequate and met our needs.
Offering rooms with an ocean view, this Bar Harbor waterfront property features daily nature cruises from its private dock and has both indoor and outdoor pools.
Room was clean and comfortable. All staff were welcoming and helpful.
Lovely coastal town free of chain restaurants!! All the shops and restaurants seemed locally owned and unique to the area. We enjoyed lots of seafood like fresh lobster, clam chowder and lobster bisque. Be sure to walk the coastal path and take a harbor cruise! We loved flying Cape Air from Boston to Bar Harbor to see the coast and islands--just be sure to pick up your luggage in Boston and bring it to the Cape Air terminal! Restaurants we liked-- Geddy's, Ben & Bills Chocolate Emporium for ice cream/gelato/fudge, Stewman's, Bar Harbor Lobster Pound --they had outdoor games, too! Of course, don't miss Acadia National Park and Abel's Lobster right by the yacht yard--great outdoor ambiance!!

We enjoyed sunrises at Cadillac Mountain, crossing the bar at low tide, hiking the Beehive, the Bubbles, and Acadia Mountain, and walking on a small portion of the carriage roads.
Bar Harbor had great food, but it was tough to get into the restaurants. Our favorite was the Side Street Cafe.
We went in late October. Pros - lower crowds. Con - water activities and some restaurants were already closed for the season.

I can't wait to go back! Bar Harbor is a beautiful town that's extremely close to Acadia National Park. It's the perfect place to return to after a long hike. The locals are friendly and the food is delicious. The views are phenomenal.

We loved Gaylns restaurant, excellent food.
We loved Gaylns restaurant, excellent food. Whole belly clams were terrific at the Thirsty Whale. You can walk just about every where. The Sightseeing & Nature Cruise with Acadian Nature Cruises was worth taking.

absolutely gorgeous.
absolutely gorgeous. Loved the distance from the hotel to Acadia Nt'l Park, as well as, to the center of Bar Harbor. Love all the shops & exploring the different restaurants in town. We've been 1x before & the weather was perfect for getting great views @ the top of the mountains in Acadia. This time, we weren't so lucky - very foggy daily. But it was still just as beautiful. Highly recommend. the outdoor pool & hot tub are fantastic here after a long day of biking/hiking. The view of the ocean with the docked ships is quite beautiful. If you're lucky like we were, you may see Bald Eagles, deer or other wild life. :)

We had a different perception of what Bar Harbor was going...
We had a different perception of what Bar Harbor was going to be like. We also met a few people downtown at a restaurant's outdoor fireplace that had the same opinion.
We thought it was going to be a quaint town on the coast. It was very touristy with an abundance of t'shirt and souvenirs shops.
Our visit took place first week in October, lots of people. We found parking downtown, you just need some patience. The Chart House has a great happy hour on the pier out back, great cocktails $10 (not well, premium labels) and fresh oysters ($2ea)
Our recommendation would be to stay at a smaller town on the coast with access to Acadia National Park. The park has 40+ miles of bike trails, called carriage trails, and the drive up Cadillac Mountain is worth making a reservation on-line. Views from the top are beautiful
Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. Breakfast is open until 10:30 am which is later than most places. They ran out of rooms with two queen beds and upgraded us to a two-room suite at no extra charge. The Motel has been in business since the 60's. Well maintained. I like the "vibe" here. Almost like a park. Good restaurant right across the street. Short drives to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
Lovely property which is located just around the corner from all the shops, restaurants and activities. The host Maddie is from the area and she is super friendly and knowledgeable and great with suggestions / ideas (as she has done it all herself). She gave us great recommendations on hikes in Acadia. I’d also add that the breakfasts at the hotel were outstanding. When we go back to Bar Harbor, we will definitely aim to stay there again.
Everything, this is simply amazing!. The innkeeper Chris has become a friend for life, such a gentleman and someone who very much cares to ensure you have the best experience possible.
The whole stay was just simply wonderful, this has the wow factor!
The breakfast and refreshments later in the day, were simply gorgeous, a talented and amazing chef! I really could not recommend this place highly enough, we didnt want to leave!!
Perfect location to access the ANP and Bar Harbor. Friendly and helpful staff! Communications with the team at Hanscom's was the best I've experienced. They checked with us several times before our arrival, made sure we had everything we needed to get in the room and we're very responsive when we had questions or issues. Also loved that this is a "Pet Friendly" location. NOT always easy to find and we loved this!
The room was large and comfortable, with a great view. The restaurant serves breakfast only, which was very good. The hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location, close to Acadia and only a short walk into Bar Harbor. Enjoyed the hot tub and indoor pool.
Great location just minutes away from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia. Much cheaper than staying in the middle of the city. The free Island Explorer bus stops right in front of the motel twice an hour to take you downtown if you don't want to drive. Renovated recently so felt clean.
Lovely hotel! The staff were wonderful and very helpful, and the building is beautiful. Our room was bright, clean, and cozy. It was nice to be on a quiet street, and you can easily get to downtown Bar Harbor - including the waterfront - in about a ten-minute walk.
The view from our room was absolutely the best part of our hotel experience. A perfect mix of foliage and the Atlantic ocean in the background. The staff was super friendly as well, and the hotel was only minutes away from downtown and great sight seeings.
The location was great. You were close to everything. The shuttle to the downtown picks you up right at the door. Breakfast was really good. Staff was very friendly. Even if the rooms are a bit dated they were very clean.
The hotel was clean and very close to downtown Bar Harbor. We walked there in about 5 min. The location was great! They don’t really have a breakfast but had some yummy muffins that were grab and go. The staff was nice.
The location is amazing. It's a short walk into downtown bar harbor, and a short drive to the entrance of acadia. The breakfasts were amazing, and they were very accommodating of my special dietary needs.
The staff was very helpful and welcoming. There was free parking at the back of the inn. The inn was maybe a 5 minute walk to downtown Bar Harbor. The noise was as it is in any hotel.
