The Caretakers were amazing, kind and so attentive.
The Caretakers were amazing, kind and so attentive. The rooms were beautiful, clean and so comfortable. The property offers a super fun movie night and wonderful breakfast and the location is perfect. I had a family emergency which cut my stay short but definitely will stay again for future memories. Thank you to everyone there for making things so lovely! 🙂

Bodega is a unique spot.
Bodega is a unique spot. The ocean views and the variety of birds alone are worth a trip. There are several great restaurants like "Drakes" at Bodega Bay Lodge, and "Terrapin," though pricey. Another is "The Tides," a large, more reasonably-priced primarily fish restaurant (usually quite busy), with wonderful views of the Bay. You can hike, visit the quaint town of Bodega, see where "The Birds" was filmed, and whale watch. Go and enjoy.

I want to add to an earlier review.
I want to add to an earlier review. I did receive a call from Lisa, the manager, concerning my invoice. She recognized the discrepancy and gave me a credit for the overcharge. I recommend Sonoma Coast Villas wholeheartedly!

You'll definitely need a car to explore this area.
You'll definitely need a car to explore this area. Close to Bodega Bay and the beach, but far enough away that it's a bit warmer and not windy compared to being on the coast. Nice and quiet area, with some restaurant options, but it's about a 15-20 min drive to more food options.

The area was beautiful.
The area was beautiful. The room was nice but needs a bunch of love to make it cozy. The flood were stone and could use some area rugs. The curtains were old and didn’t close properly. The lamp shades were dented. The refrigerator was broken as well as the hot tub. I removed a towel and the holder fell of the wall. Paint chipped off the walls and it smelled musty when we entered the room.It had a fireplace and we loved it. The beds were very comfortable. The continental breakfast was presented in a beautiful dining area and was pretty well supplied. Great coffee and warm muffins. But the room was freezing. There should have at least had a fire or some heating. The staff were friendly. For over $360 a night I expected more for sure. But we loved the place in general so we’ll consider it again if there are nicer rooms to choose from.
Sonoma Coast Villa was just the right mix of luxury and casualness. It had everything I wanted but absolutely no pretentiousness. My villa had a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. I took my dogs and it was possibly the most dog friendly place I’ve ever been to. We love hiking and were close to some great spots to hike. The only downside had nothing to do with the resort. Cell coverage in the area was dismal and locating the trails was tough without navigation. I’m considering going back already this weekend.
We had a great stay. We loved how close we were to Bodega Bay as well as all the adorable inland towns like Occidental. Having a real fireplace was a highlight! There are fun outdoor activities on site to enjoy and the grounds are beautiful. We absolutely loved the very spacious room, bathroom and patio. What a treat. We made plans to come back for our anniversary next year! Very friendly staff.
The property was quaint and offered a lot of privacy. The property grounds were up kept really nicely. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. I loved our room and it’s location. I also liked the fireplace in the room. I did get a massage and enjoyed it very much. There is a little drive to local eateries from the hotel.
Everything about our stay was excellent, the rooms were cozy and spacious, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was excellent (they really go above and beyond your typical hotel breakfast). The s’mores and outdoor movie was definitely a highlight as well !! We will be back for sure
A beautiful Mission-style venue with gorgeous grounds, multiple small activities, and, dog friendly. Junior suite was very nicely furmished, comfortable, roomy. An engaging, welcoming staff, offering a glass of wine upon arrival and hotel-made snacks and cookies. A varied and filling breakfast.
The villas are beautiful, with a fireplace. The Staff is very friendly and meet you with a glass of champagne. The breakfast was great and the willingness to help us out find a good restaurant was great. By the way Hitchcock's movie The Beards was built in the site of a nearby hotel
We had a great stay! Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. The hot tub was wonderful. Fireplace in rooms was very nice! Our rooms were very spacious. S'mores and movies outdoors was a fun touch. Very dog friendly, too!
Very relaxing night. Cookies at check-in. Friendly staff. Large quiet room. Short drive to Bodega bay for dinner and walk on the beach. Supper Yummy breakfast - bacon and eggs, fresh fruit. Can't wait to go back.
