The hospitality was outstanding and facilities very satisfactory. We showed up dripping wet, cold and muddy from a day of hiking in rain and were welcomed as though we were family. Great ambiance, food and service at the bar-restaurant too. Huge shout-out & thank you to the very helpful and friendly Veronica who took time with us even though she was run off her feet all evening!

Great value for money. The apartment was a perfect place for our stay in the very beautiful village. The apartment has a kitchen, a living room and two bedrooms. The shower provides instantly hot water! So everything was fine and comfortable. Better take one of the two upstairs apartments because of the beautiful views. Parking is possible nearby. There is a small shop in the village (but no gas station and no bank/atm). The roads to Genalguacil are awesome, steep and winding - great if you love mountain roads! Also very good hiking opportunities around here.

It is sort of a mountain 'retreat' kind of place, as opposed to a hotel. It is pretty basic, which I don't mind, but many travelers are less flexible than I am.
The hotel was spotless and the village is very pretty.
The hotel was spotless and the village is very pretty. There is a very nice pool and a beautiful, comfortable terrace with wonderful views of the hills and valley. We only had one night but thoroughly enjoyed it and could happily have stayed longer. The village is quiet and peaceful- very restful- and the surrounding area is beautiful. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was pretty average and we were the only ones there, but it was early in the season.

The village is small with tiny twisty winding lanes, up hill and down dale, with houses built into the rock in some places. It has spectacular views over the green wooded hills.
we sat and listened to silence, and to bird calls, it was so relaxing.
We speak Spanish which helps, and we found the people in the village very polite and welcoming. We were invited to their lunchtime gardeners/farmers market, and made to feel part of the place. We enjoyed an impromptu lunch of salchicas on the bbq and a small vino tinto. I came away having bought chard, almonds in their shells, many kilos of lemons and some fresh bay leaves.
We were shown into the church which the village people were restoring themselves.
I used a mobility scooter and nearly everywhere was accessible to me in the hotel and the village.
We ate in the hotel Banu Rabbuh restaurant forreasonably priced food, with several vegetarian options. We ate indoors and on the terrace twice. It is a simple but charming hotel. There r plenty of walks for the more active visitor, plus 4x4 trips and mule trekking organized by the hotel. Also many other pretty villages and countryside round about. You could easily spend a week here. Its only an hour from the coast, but a different world.
There is also a bar in the village that does good wine , jamón and snacks.
