The Slipway is a Grade II listed building that dates back to 1527 and is located opposite Port Isaac harbor.

Loved the 500 year old building and location was superb but the owners and staff made it a perfect vacay. Stephen & Donna went above and beyond. Will definitely come back.

Port Isaac is lovely, but access for anyone with walking problems is difficult. It is very steep and not really accessible by car. Parking is at least 20 minutes away. The School House is a great place to eat.

Port Isaac is a glorious, historic fishing village in North Cornwall. On the harbour level, you'll find a higgledy-piggledy assortment of lanes packed with beautiful, picture-perfect cottages. Also on this level is the beach/harbour itself, a great pub and several tourist shops and restaurants that specialise in locally caught seafood (including Nathan Outlaw's fantastic restaurant). On Port Isaac's top levels, you'll find shops and more independent restaurants. It's a really atmospheric, special place, framed by the rugged Cornish coastline. However, be warned: it gets VERY busy in peak season (a nightmare for parking), so consider a stay during quieter times.

It's such a beautiful place to visit all year round.

It's such a beautiful place to visit all year round. Unfortunately, it happened to me to visit it in autumn but anyway, I enjoyed both visits. I believe in summertime it should be outstanding to be there. I would definitely recommend visiting it if you want an escape from the busy city. I would recommend you to visit the Newquay too. It's worth it.

A beautiful, peaceful village. Cornish people so lovely.

A beautiful, peaceful village. Cornish people so lovely. The village is isolated but depicts everything we know it for on the tv and movies (Doc Martin and Fishermen’s Friends). It does not disappoint. But there is much more. artists, nice eateries and gift shops. Also great history and sense of community. It is a relaxed pace to just chill. There are hills and cobblestones streets - but accessible for most. Take a walking tour to find out about history, movie making and life in the village. No access for cars so you must be able to walk everywhere. Do need to use buses or have a car if you wish to explore more of Cornwall. Transport is an issue. Do your research if you are train travellers. If touring then 1 full day and night in Port Isaac a must. Very safe. Loved it! There is a small Co-op. Suggest you take alcohol eg scotch with you if you feel like drink in your accommodation - as not a lot on offer. A range of restaurants. Such fresh seafood. If you have a self contained unit you can buy fresh and eat in. But restaurants offer seafood specials.

It is a beautiful fishing village with lots of good restaurants and shops. Picturesque! We enjoyed our tour of Doc Martin and seeing the scenes from Fishermen’s Friends movie. We would definitely come again but find a day trip would have covered it along with the terrific hike to Port Quinn.

If you're going because you're enamored with the Doc Martin...

If you're going because you're enamored with the Doc Martin TV show and want to get in on the tour, you need to reserve a spot by phone. The number's by the beach. Everything looks much, much smaller than in the TV show...they used a wide-angle lens. You won't get inside of Doc Martin's house - it's private property. The locals we met were helpful and friendly. The streets are steep. The air is damp, even in the cottages. Plan on parking outside of town. If you're staying overnight, take only light baggage. Plan on lots of tourists in July & August. Eating places close at 8 p.m.

Great location in the little town of Port Isaac. It is a very small cottage and typical of most homes in the area. Once we got used to being snug and had unpacked and stowed our luggage under the bed we found that everything we needed to be comfortable was in fact there. The bed was comfortable and the duvet fluffy and warm. The heaters were efficient and warmed the cottage up quickly. From the bedroom window you can see the harbor and with it open a little we could hear the ocean at night - lovely.

A wonderful location for visiting Port Isaac! No matter where you stay you will be trekking uphill half the time, but the views from the living room and one of the upstairs bedrooms make this location delightful. There is a grocery store only a 3-minute walk away, and Port Gaverne is only a 10-minute walk as well. When we left an item behind the management was very helpful in retrieving it helping us have mailed back to the U.S.

The location, the view, and the property met and exceeded our expectations. The town is wonderful and the hotel puts you in the middle of it. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Even on a chilly night it was great to crack the window and listen to the waves crashing in the bay. The staff was extremely friend and wonderful to talk with. Breakfast was included and was delicious. We had a wonderful experience at this hotel.

Room enjoys a fabulous view of Port Isaac harbor. The room is tastefully and artistically furnished and decorated. Staff were super friendly and helpful. There's a nice garden to relax in in good weather. A wonderful take-away coffee shop is just below... but it doesn't open until 9:30! And the School House Inn and Restaurant across the street once refused us service as non- resident/guests.

The locaation was excellent for visiting port isaac a nice 20 minute walk through country lanes, and the shuttle service was excellent for getting back up the hill. The hotel staff James Jamie Arnie and the team were so friendly nothing was too much trouble, could not find any fault with anything, would definately recommend a stay at the longcross hotel.
