This was the most welcome I felt of our entire trip.
This was the most welcome I felt of our entire trip. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. If you could choose any hotel for your vacation this has to be the one because it will be your favorite. The food and staff were my favorites. The room was clean and comfy and they even had buckwheat pillows!

The best advice I can give is find where the biggest crowds are massed, all trying to impress deer with the same rice crackers that everyone else is trying to feed them, then pick a direction and walk away from them. There is so much more to the park: primeval forests, ancient stone pathways leading to temples and small villages older than most of our own countries, hidden pockets of lost time. It is hard to explain how it feels to not have another human being in sight, finding yourself passing stone idols carved by people hundreds of years ago, only to see a deer eating moss from the base of said idol that stops chewing to literally bow to you. Of course you bow back and scramble in your bag for some kind of treat to offer your new best friend (I recommend unsalted pretzel sticks, the deer hate plain rice crackers as much as we do at this point) and then having it gently eat from the palm of your hand, before you both again swap polite bows and go on your merry way. Then you hear a crow sing from the ancient forest behind you, and you just know: this is pretty cool.

Nice place, parks, plenty of temples, huge Buddha statues, a little ride by train and you can see the oldest still standing wooden building in the world!
And of course the deer! Feeding the deer with the deer cookies is fun and a little scary as they are quite bold and can pull and push you a bit.
Good food available as well.

There’s a lot to see in Nara but it is quite spread out. Buses are easy to use though. Taxis can get busy - couldn’t get a booking.
There are two amazing restaurants at the bus station.
And there’s a seismic company building that is really interesting, and even has a great view from the top.

It was our first time in Nara.
It was our first time in Nara. Everyone who goes there must see Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine and feed the the deer, sika senbei in Nara Park. Walking the covered shopping streets is great fun. You can find souvenirs and lots of places to eat.
The location was good, close to Naramachi. The staff were also very helpful, my friend had left her Apple Airpods in another hotel in a different city and we asked Miroku's staff to help make a call in Japanese and communicate that to the other hotel's staff. The Miroku team helped us with the process of arranging for the airpods to be delivered to us at Miroku, and ensured that we received the item when it arrived. Thank you so much!
I loved this hotel, yes it's dated no denying that but I had a huge room full size bath, the most incredible breakfasts. Staff were lovely especially the breakfast staff, so nice and helpful.
The location is terrific 5 mins walk from Nara Station and 10 mins or less from Kintetsu station. They kept my luggage for me after checking out, couldn't be more helpful, I was genuinely sorry to leave here. Incredible value for money
The hotel was approximately 15 minutes walk from Nara train station in a great location near shops and cafes. The laundry room was an added bonus with great service wash and dry of clothes. The hotel was also a short walk from both the Nara park with the famous deer, shrines and monuments plus the food market and restaurants. The hotel was clean and well maintained. There was a nice breakfast included in the price.
This was just a random hotel we booked when we spontaneously decided on staying a night in Nara because it is so close to the train station, but wow, what a great hotel for the price! Beautiful, clean, offers an onsen and workshops and activities on some days. The all the staff was incredibly nice and helpful and spoke English really well. Price-quality wise, this was the best hotel we stayed at on our trip to Japan.
The staff was extremely helpful in explaining how the Ryokan works. I had never used an onsen/ private bath before, and even that process was explained to me. The rooms are very much in the style of traditional Japanese culture, and each room is named after a specific era in time and history. The location is right next to Nara Deer Park, so you're able to access all of the beauty of Nara within walking distance.
First off every single person working here is extremely polite and really makes you feel welcome. The Hotel is in a great location ~15 mins walk from Nara Station and slightly closer to Kintetsu-Nara station, very close to Nara Park and many other extremely beautiful spots. There are a lot of Cafés and Restaurants around. The room has a decent size, you get a Guide Book for Nara and some special green tea.
Very beautiful property. We had a private bath with a mountain view and it was very beautiful. We loved everything about this place. Very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and nice. We cannot eat raw fish and they accommodated us easily and the food was exceptional. Very nice and delicious. The town of Nara is beautiful and easy to get around in. The hotel is also in a great location.
I'm reviewing this place long time after my stay so I don't remember all the details. I enjoyed the location near the train station, it requires a bit of a walk towards the famous temple in Nara but it's practical when travelling by train. The hotel is a standard Super Ueno so there is no surprise in what is offered if you already travelled in Super Ueno places. I enjoyed the view from my room.
Staff was professional, helpful and friendly-also spoke great English. Traditional Japanese breakfast was presented so beautifully and there was more than enough food. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Location is walling distance to most sights and right next door to bus and train stations. We will be back and will certainly stay with the Nikko Nara facility/staff again.
This was our second stay this year. The location is perfect! Walk 5 minutes from the train platform to the front desk. The onsen is fantastic after long days of walking. There are many options for all meals close by with all types of food and costs.
The JR station is only 15 minutes walk if you want to do a day trip or visit Horyuji. Great hotel!!
The hotel is really close to Nara JR station and it is easy to get the bus up to the main temple complex. Other temples and shrines are within walking distance and it is convenient for local shops and restaurants. Shoes need to be left at reception and there are shoe lockers for that. The onsite hot spring baths are lovely and well appointed.
We absolutely loved this luxury ryokan in Nara. It was a perfect ending to our 2-week trip in Japan, especially after visiting the big cities prior to our stay at Sarusawaike Yoshida. The staff was so welcoming and helpful! We really enjoyed the private baths, the roof-top lounge, and the wonderful location of the hotel. Highly recommended!
The location is fabulous. Practically in Nara park. And so close to Naramachi, the neighborhood just south of Sarusawa Pond where there are many quaint restaurants that serve great food, not to mention the narrow streets with traditional houses that are a delight to explore. The check-in instructions were easy to follow.
This lovely hotel has a great location, serves a delicious breakfast, and has a friendly staff. We were able to rent bikes to ride around the park which was a nice added touch. The hotel was perfectly located to lots of restaurants, shops, and the the park. It was also very quiet and we slept easily.
This is absoluteky my preferred hotel in Nara. Superb location and service. The in room dinner available is of high quality. Similarly the breakfast. The hotel has a superb in house hot bath and a superb cafe in the ground floor. Jens Hoeg Denmark
I loved every single thing from this hotel. From the staff, to the room, to the onsen, to the location. This Truly the Japanese experience to its finest. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nara for a day trip.
Location was perfect being right next to the station, and not a far walk to the Nara park area and some amazing restaurants and bars along the way. Staff were extremely helpful and I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.
The location was good, close to train station and convenience store. We stayed for a night so we don’t have any complaints. There are many parking lots close to the hotel. Its close to Nara park as well.
Very close to JR Station in Nara, 3 minute walk. Very, clean and quiet hotel even though it is so near the railway.
Staff speak English and were helpful. Lovely onsen.
