Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. In the evening, in Aljezur, always book ahead a table.

A magical small village with tiny streets and houses, nice restaurants The river is full of life, edpecially dozens of turtles sun bathing. the beaches are close and the castle above the city gives a nice overview although it is just a ruin.
nice massage at “em boas maos“ at the other side of the river in the new part of town.
there is also a nice walkway east of the castle directly below with benches to rest and look over the whole village and countryside.

We hope to return.
We hope to return. The presence of an active cultural life was important for us. We felt like we were in a town and region alive and not just a tourist setting.
By the way, asking these questions in English also, would be helpful.

What I liked is that it is truly a get away from the busier touristy parts of Portugal. What I didn't like is that google maps has its location for a national park located in the middle of a farm that has sand on the surrounding roads that are easy to get stuck in.

If you want to explore the west coast of Portugal Aljezur is a good choice for a stop over. We travelled from the south and beaches we visited on our way were spectacular. Going North this morning it was equally as good.
Situated ideally between Monte Clerico and Arifana, this accommodation offers prime access to two of the main surfing beaches. With restaurants and shops easily reachable by car, its location is highly convenient. The host, Helen, who lives nearby, is extremely accommodating and always ready to assist if any need arises.
The property has a refreshing pool, sunny till approximately 6 p.m., and a charming roof terrace. Guests can also enjoy a barbecue setup. The space is well-equipped, from a two-bedroom layout to a kitchen and bathroom.
This place is absolutely magical. Alvaro is a gem. The landscape is gorgeous, the villas are comfortable and clean and modern, the animals are sweet and the breakfast was amazing. We had a wonderful time relaxing by the fire, enjoying the sunset over a glass of wine, enjoying breakfast on the patio, watching the horses and peacocks and playing with the dogs. It's easy to access beautiful Arrifera beach and the nearby town has a few restaurants and shops (you'll need a car). We can't wait to come back!
A 10/10 or 5-stars doesn’t begin to describe the amazing experience, the beautiful land, the comfortable tents and most of all the amazing and beautiful people. Booking.com should invent a higher rating, just for this place.
The yoga in the morning was amazing, breakfast was lovely, …
The beach at Arifana nearby is perfect for beginner surfers.
We had the best time!!
Clean, spacious room with a nice balcony; kettle and coffee maker in the hall immediately outside the room. Very comfortable.
Breakfasts in Portugal are almost all good; at the Casa da Horta the owner adds small details to an already excellent breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel after 6 weeks in Portugal.
Even on warm days, the temperatures are fine in this small and practical apartment. It feels very authentic to stay in the heart of old town Aljezur. Good restaurants and bars just down the road. Very friendly staff. Perfect location for tours in this wonderful part of Portugal.
The property fully met our expectations for a one night stay. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony. It was in a quiet location but you need a car to access it. There are plenty of restaurants near by and the breakfast provided was simple but was great.
I loved this place. Ludo created a cool and relaxed atmosphere to stay and meet other people. The accommodation and facilities like kitchen, living room, garden, and pool are great. I have stayed a couple of times and looking forward to staying again.
The house is very cosy and beautiful. I had a peaceful and regenerating stay. Ludo is a great host. And I also recommend the location. Nearby you can find nice beaches for surfing and good spots to admire the sunset over the ocean.
Fantastic hostess, great muffins - a great option for breakfast the next day. Nearby there is a very good restaurant and a shop where you can eat breakfast, buy a sandwich on the road.
fireplace, host, flexibility of host.
