Property was exactly as you would expect for a caravan park cabin, had all the essentials but not overly new/strong/sealed. Suited us perfectly for air-con, bedding and amenities. Would recommend if you are stopping over for the night.
Kids playground was ok, pillow was great but lots of HUGE bird poop over all the other equipment (It had to have been a flock of pelicans!?) indoor rec area was also really nice.

It was lovely to be given a cabin overlooking the sea at the Discovery park. Book one of these if you stay here. Great value. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The cabin had everything we needed.
The view from the look out was amazing. The round pier was great to walk on. Lots of shops and services in town.

Being born and bred in Whyalla returning to my home town and show my kids a grandkids around was wonderful there were lots of places to visit like hummock hill, my old school then the Whyalla show and HMAS Whyalla. Perfect stay lots of places to eat but we enjoyed the bbq down the beach in the rain. And home made rolls at hummock hill. Dolphins pelicans and seagulls galore.

We had a lovely walk around the wetlands that also had a nice coffee shop. The Maritime Museum with a tour over the HMAS Whyalla is well done. The Cuttlefish at Point Lowly during winter are great to see by either snorkelling or glass bottom boat. Travel down to the new jetty about 3:30pm when the fishing boats come in, for a close encounter with bottle nose dolphins. The night time view from Hummock Hill over the jetty and town is photo worthy.
There is a beautiful walk along the beach front and through Ada Ryan Gardens. The town has Woolworths, Coles and Foodland supermarkets.

Absolutely the best short getaway!
Absolutely the best short getaway! Relaxing, Modern beachfront, Amazing Futuristic Jetty, Gardens are beautiful, Plenty of great places to eat. Gone is the old red dust from years ago. The town is clean and friendly and there was enough to keep busy as well as relax for up to a week. Suggest the foreshore for accommodation, just a great setting!

I grew up in whyalla I always hate visiting but this visit was different I had a amazing time and think the town has improved so much. The beach no longer feels dirty and red with the red dust and seaweed it looked beautiful and clear. The westlands has less vacant shop fronts and business in the town seems to be doing well.
This property exceeded our expectations. After booking we were greeted with fantastic communication from the owners; which made the process of checking in and parking super quick and simple. Then, when we entered our room we were surprised to find such a large, clean and beautiful space, with a personalised welcome note and sweet treats to enjoy. This properties attention to detail and value for money makes it one that we will look forward to revisiting when returning to Whyalla.
Beautifully decorated rooms.
Other hotels/motels in the area should take note of the stunning refurb.
Its not about abundance of space (as the rooms there compact!), its about the creature comforts, and The Eyre has them all.
Mini Bar, room service, quality bedding (best linen and pillows!), work station and NETFLIX to chill.
Gorgeous bathroom with a fully stocked essentials cabinet. Perfect touch.
Perfect for a quick stop over.
Tastefully renovated rooms, couldn't fault it. Complete with comfy beds amd a smart TV with Netflix. We were also very impressed by the restaurant - served wonderful food! This will definitely be my go to, next time I'm in Whyalla!
Warm and cosy room, and the emenities provided was quality! What a self contained motel, it has a great bar, fantastic food in an enjoyable fun restaurant, a games room for the one arm bandits!
I now always stay there in a cabin - for a large superior cabin get full kitchen and lounge plus 2 bedrooms and on the sea- same or less price than most (definitely smaller) hotel rooms.
We didn't have breakfast went to hotel but coffee machine broken and the staff served people behind us first so we walked out and had our breakfast at westland shopping centre 😬
A fabulous 1960s motel situated on the foreshore.
It is best accommodation in Whyalla.
Good coffee and food available in the centre of town - 2 minutes drive.
