The walk down by the Tumut River was an unexpected and beautiful surprise. There were ducks and many other birds plus I discovered hundreds of bats nesting in the trees. Tumut has a beautiful public pool adjacent to a newly built children’s park with bbqs as well.AAnnaAustralia - 10Scored 10

I felt in love with Tumut .I am pleasantly surprised how much Tumut has to offer.I walk through the city a lot and found 4 different churches,so many shops and restaurants...post office,banks, schools, museum...etc.. But what impress me the most are parks and walkways..I have been in all and my favourite is Riverside walk ..and the Tumut river is amazing.Been to wetlands too...so many birds.. I truly love this city...and there is plenty things to see and visit in surrounding.We been to Adelong ,love it..such a beautiful place to go... There is plenty to see in Tumut and the surrounding towns. The Falling Leaf Festival is fantastic with a street parade and Comedy Gala at the beautiful old theatre and plenty of other attractions happening over the Falling Leaf Festival weekend. Tumut is a very tidy town full of friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere. This was my ninth "long weekend" visit to Tumut and definitely will not be my last.GregoryAustralia - 8.0Scored 8.0

Our trip was to review childhood memories and visit friends. Pretty country town on edge of the river. Local broom factory interesting to visit and watch the handmade process. Short drive to Batlow ( great for apples and apple cider), Talbingo ( site of Tumut 2 power station, fabulous views of the dam from top of the lookout).AAnonymousAustralia - 10Scored 10

Have stayed in Tumut several times. It is a really a nice little town. Very clean and tidy. Friendly pubs and cafes. At the centre of heaps of many scenic drives, to the snowy mountains or south to Victoria. Would recommend it as a great place to visit

As a relatively light sleeper, external noise is always a factor I consider when choosing a place to stay and this one was brilliant - didn’t hear a thing when the other guests left in the morning. Add to that a well appointed and spacious room with an excellent shower and this place turned out to be an absolutely pleasant surprise. Highly recommend.

The rooms and how they are set with furniture and style are just so perfect for the type we had booked for. A great location, walking distance to Tumut River walk, parks, shops and of course, Tumut River Brewery (which was a highlight). We did share a bathroom which was fine, but would have liked our own bathroom. General breakfast cereals, tea/coffee, milk were all supplied and we did partake.

Little touches like light switches and electrical sockets by the bedside made this motel exceptional, especially at a very reasonable price compared with many others. Eating nearby is very good in the Oriental Hotel. I tried and left elsewhere, but here I had friendly service and nice meals, and it's very close to the motel.

The rooms are spacious and clean, showers nice and hot, beds are comfy and staff are absolute gems. It’s a perfect stop if you’re travelling with furbabies especially. Loads of room to create a comfy space for them. The property also has a large grassed area along its perimeter it to take them for a walk.

House is spacious, very clean and comfortable. Lovely backgrop of hills and view of the river. We didn't get the chance to set-up a bonfire to see wombats coming out of their hideout, but that's one reason we will go back there. Deb and husband are nice too. Highly recommend this place!

The water pressure was awesome though the shower a little tight and very clean as was the rest of the the apartment. The full size stove allows you to cook meals for convenience. It was value for money. We have stayed at a few different rooms in Tumut and this was certainly the best option.

Location was central to the main street of Tumut and close to a nearby hotel which does a great dinner. Didn't use the pool as we were there in winter, however it was clean with a great outlook.
