Enjoyable stay. Travelled to Green point beach. Wonderful scenery. Accommodation quite good however had to go find a staff person to be able to checkin. Booked at hotels restaurant for tea, however only 1 person serving so took longer to place our order waiting in line, and then after paying and waiting for meals to come were told one was not available so had to change order to something else and also had to chase up a drink that wasn't served. Not enough staff serving and also missing a place setting at our booked table.

Fabulous visitor centre with great staff. Really helpful.
Fabulous visitor centre with great staff. Really helpful. Informed us about the tour of the local Robotic Dairy. This proved extremely interesting and we sampled cheeses they make afterwards. This town is the original home of Duck River butter! Taste sensation! Fortunately the B and B we stayed in included this in their breakfast selections. Friendly town, friendly people. Arthur River can be easily reached as can Stanley. Great spot!

Smithton a little country town, not many shops and they close at 12 on saturdays and closed for Sundays. Not much to choose from for takeaway meals, very basic and not great. Great town to travel through and stay a night but no longer than that.

Smithon is a small rural town with limited shops that close on the weekend. Propbably good as a drive through or one night stay to travel to the next destination but nothing to do and the residents are not that friendly.

Smithton is a pretty town although small and fairly quiet.
Smithton is a pretty town although small and fairly quiet. The Bridge Hotel/Motel where we stayed was well-modernised in recent years, and facilities and fittings were good quality.
We ate at the Hotel on our first night, and the food is good pub-grub style, no surprises.
We tried a couple of cafés for our morning coffee, and Hugh's was the best, although a little too much like a partially converted shop. There was an art display in Hugh's - Smithton's Archibald Prize - of portrait paintings and mixed media, and we were able to cast a 'people's vote' for our favourite picture. This made up for the industrial nature of the café and the friendliness of the young lady on the counter made our visit a pleasure.

Smithton is a great place to base yourself from, to explore the rugged far west coast of this State. I wanted to capture some photos of some rough seas on the coast. I did get some lovely shots of long waves. I also enjoyed exploring along the roads to Mount Cameron West/Preminghana where I was mesmerised by the landscape beauty and "feel" of the place.
Bilbo's is a delight. Positioned right near the centre of Smithton but on a hill with lovely views. The cottage is very private, compact and with beautiful details everywhere you look-lovely paintings, fresh flowers, little skylights, a lovely courtyard to enjoy, little treats in the pantry. Overall a very thoughtfully curated experience. My favourite new place.
The location is likely the best in Smithton for accommodation! It has a great view and has all the amenities you need. The coffee pod machine was a lovely surprise and we appreciated the toast and yoghurt for breakfast. It was very comfortable overall and Heather was a kind and welcoming host after a long day of exploring the rainforests along the Tarkine drive.
The twin room was clean and tidy with a queen and double bed. The room was quiet which was a nice surprise as its next to the hotel. Had dinner at hotel and the food was alright as the picky eater enjoyed their chicken burger. The car was parked in front of the room which was great.
Proximity to the bottle shop - a couple of steps to get drinks and snacks.
These rooms and facilities are very basic but seemed clean and comfortable. Exactly what I was anticipating for the price point. I was only needing a comfy bed and a shower before work as I had been camping for a few days prior. Sure there are higher quality options out there, but nothing went close to the value of the Bridge Hotel in the Smithton area.
Amazing views of Duck River and Smithton, quality breakfast selection, coffee pod selection, fantastic wine and cheese. Luxurious accommodation experience surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. A lovely base to explore Tasmania’s northwest coast.
What a very dead large town, Arrived on a Sunday, s/market, one takeaway and the tourist info (cheese factory) were the only places we found open,. Stayed in hotel with ensuite, could complain for what we got for the price.
Amazing place, one of the best indoor pools in Tasmania that we have experienced, room , facilities, friendly staff, definitely will be coming back next time, as we only stayed a night, and wasnt long enough
Great range of breakfast options including plunger coffee! Really comfortable bed. Hot water heated quickly for use in kitchen and shower. Smithton proved very interesting and Stanley is always a delight.
The grounds were beautiful. Hotel and bar staff were friendly and attentive. The beds were super comfy, and the room cosy. The pool and spa were great entertainment for our family. The property was clean.
beautifully appointed accommodation in the middle of the lovely town of Smithton. our hosts Ingrid and Jo were welcoming and Jo is an excellent cook and we took the option of having dinner in. sensational
I LOVED staying here! Such a peaceful and beautiful location. The hosts were fantastic and even did a load of laundry for me. I will certainly be staying here again next time I am in the area.
Accommodation was great. We enjoyed a early morning swim in the indoor heated pool which during the cold weather was fantastic. Meals at the restaurant were good.
