It is an ideal location to stay for a few days and venture into the interior and other interesting places to visit around the town.
Just don't eat at the RSL. I expected more seafood to be available.
Pick up some tasty take away from the special section at the front of the IGA in the mall.
Towns and cities have a strange idea about disability access.

Lovely town with great eateries.
Lovely town with great eateries. The IGA had a variety of salads, the larger one not the small on main road that offered fresh salads. Great board walk around the water.
The Tasman Holiday park was modern, good facilities, a view of the water and quiet. This was our first ever stay in one and we were impressed with the cabin and the price.

St Helen’s is the central services community for many nearby small holiday hamlets. It has good supermarkets and an excellent provedore plus restaurants and most of the service facilities a holiday maker would need. There are interesting and varied beaches in the area and plenty of boating & fishing for those who enjoy these pursuits. Plenty to like, we did not find anything to dislike.

There are some great beaches and bayside scenery around St Helens but they are definitely a part of the Big 4 Holiday Park. It about a kilometre trek to get into the middle of town.
Find some brochures at the Information Centres to advise the best places to visit.

It was great to have a whole space to ourselves, the beds were comfy and the kitchen well equipped. It was lovely to be out in the bush and hear the frogs . I would recommend this for a family as there are lots of animals and the hosts are friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
Beautiful view overlooking a dam and Tasman Sea and not far from St Helens. Bird life and cows in the paddock added to the view. This quiet villa had everything you could possibly need. A good sized kitchen with microwave, fridge and small cooktop and coffee machine. The bathroom was well equipped with fluffy towels and a great shower. The king size bed was extremely comfortable with a decent size TV and sitting area. There was also a guest laundry for the avid traveller. Our room was called the Robin.
We really liked the location and the style of the accommodation.
It was nice that there was some tea bags & some sugar, together with a few other pantry items.
There was plenty of wood for the fire, however, we didn't use any.
I was surprised to see that the property had a sauna, but again, we didn't use it.
Good Wifi and reasonable phone reception.
St. Helens has the BEST french restaurant in town.... a "must" to try.
The owner gave us a great tip where to eat and it was perfectly romantic. He also pointed out the trails on his property and I made use of them. The Blue wren cottage is unassuming from the outside but is immaculate inside. Both of us slept soundly on probably the most comfortable bed during our month long tour of Victoria and Tasmania. There are 2 towns within 9 kilometers.
Fantastic accomodation with everything thought of. Plenty of comfort and room to move, including secure space front and back that the dog enjoyed. The food provisions were unexpected and whilst we used only little, were greatly appreciated. Good location for accessing the stunning surroundings of St Helens and Bay of Fires area. Highly recommend. Thankyou Sharon.
Great location, quiet. Big rooms with everything you could ask for. Very friendly staff.
If you are ever travelling through St Helens I can't recommend this motel more highly. It is called a motel but it is better than many hotel accommodations I have stayed in.
Everything we needed in the independent cottage opposite the office. Hotel within walking distance to eateries, shops etc.
Very clean & comfortable, wished I had stayed an extra night. Will definitely book again if I ever come this way again.
The room was clean and tastefully refurbished with everything well catered for. The location in the small town of St Helens was perfect with quality restaurants and cafes nearby and only a 15 minute drive from the Bay of Fires.
The kids play area in the complex was fantastic for our toddler. The room was clean & comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would like to return to explore more of St Helens and the area as we only had a one night stay.
Great location (make sure you book a lake view room). Obviously an old hotel complex, and need of some refurbishment, but it had everything we needed and was very comfortable.
dinner breakfast also very good
Had a great stay - the property was newly updated inside, and the owner was really kind and had wonderful suggestions on what to do in the area and in Tasmania in general. Would definitely recommend.
We were very impressed with this hotel. The room and bathroom were both spacious and clean. Beautiful view out of our upper floor window/porch and great location.
