Port Augusta is nice peaceful place with plenty of food places, Accomodation when not booked out is clean and restful. With Big W and KMart Hub Sports and Toy Shop and other food and other places to peruse a good place for a week stay they also have Wadlata Outback and a nature ground to look at Not far away is the Flinders Ranges and a lot of thing else around , with a bit of Sight Seeing within Driving Distance

We thoroughly enjoyed our Port Augusta trip.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Port Augusta trip. We stayed at the Augusta Courtyard Motel, which was excellent. There may not be a lot to see but it’s quite a pretty town & nothing’s very far away.
We went down to the wharf for a peaceful stroll and took some lovely photos. Had breakfast in a cafe adjacent to a park, where there was free live music courtesy of a band that was singing and playing. They even supplied fold up chairs for folks to sit in 👍
A great morning was had before we headed off to the race track. Our horse wasn’t a winner but everything else was.
Loved our stay and wished we had an extra night!

The Wadlata Centre was excellent.
The Wadlata Centre was excellent. Certainly worth the entry fee.
We stayed at the Magestic Oasis Apartments - friendly, helpful staff in a lovely location. Full kitchen facilities. The air conditioner was very welcomed as the outside temperature was 42 C. A tad hot!

Odd town shopping area layout.
Odd town shopping area layout.
Wanted to go on Pichi Richi railway but here wrong day unfortunately.
Make sure you visit the water tower. Go up it and enjoy the views of Port Augusta and further afield.
We were on a road trip and many times before we left home I thought about cancelling our stay in Port Augusta, well I am so glad we did not. The accommodation was great and having a washing machine was a blessing, we had a view of the water and felt very safe in our gated community. The young staff were amazing and were only too pleased to help. Port Augusta is a gorgeous old town with many beautiful buildings. Would stay here again. Yes the town has social issues but we still felt safe.
Staff are friendly and welcoming. Though we were barely there for the week we stayed we had everything we needed. Very hard to get accomodation in Port Augusta at the time but Lisa( receptionist) the legend made room for me and my children for a week stay in such short notice. Very thankful.
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and it is my hotel of choice in Port Augusta. It is far enough away from the main business area to be quiet, but is still only a short drive. It is near the train lines, but the trains haven't bothered me and I am a light sleeper.
Great value in Port Augusta - modern room - felt really comfy - good cooking facilities - separate bedrooms and living dining area - lovely modern cabins with a great verandah and parking next to cabin - really tidy and very clean - definitely recommend
The Standpipe is a cut above the other motels in Port Augusta for the quality of accommodation. Its Indian restaurant has been consistently outstanding throughout the 15 years years l've been staying there. The staff are friendly and efficient.
The tropical vibe (huge plants sprawling through the grounds) was amazing! Very cool large wooden table in the centre of the oasis. Cute cabins. Great food from the takeaway shop via the Oasis.
This is the best motel I have ever stayed at. And I regularly stay in motels. When in Port Augusta I only stay here. Everything is excellent about this motel. It is close to perfect.
Comfort Inn Port Augusta definitely would stay at again. great size room with comfy bed and a great bathroom, also there’s a pub next door but 1 and didn’t hear a thing from it.
Perfect location, lovely fresh and clean. Value for money. Pet friendly and friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more really. Thank you for making our short stay so pleasant.
Lots of history in this hotel. Frank was very friendly, and the room was perfect for our overnight stay through Port Augusta. We booked again for our return trip back.
Easy access to the Highway, walking distance to a couple of great places to eat (especially the Standpipe), quiet, clean and a lovely welcome pack on arrival.
i was a day early and the hotel was full so they were so kind to accommodate me in their sister property the Standpipe. it was very nice of them. thank you.
