Thanks James for a wonder stay! We loved the unique experience of staying in a historic building and learning about its past. The room and the common areas were very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cutlery, great for cooking a quick meal or just making a cuppa. The family had a lot of fun playing games in the meals area :) And thank you so much for the dress up photo shoot before we were 'set free' :) It was a great experience and I highly recommend it to anyone (including families) wanting a different experience, not to mention the very reasonable price!

The rooms were very spacious and clean. The heated pool was a bonus but we didn't get a chance to use it. We did use the spa in our room though which was delightful!

We stayed two nights and it was a comfortable place to be. Parking was easy and right by the door. Pretty quiet too, even though the motel is right on a main road. Our unit was at the rear.

Larger country town with great facilities and many sightseeing options. Close to one Australia's great wine regions. Many accommodation choices available to suit all budgets. And of course it has the Blue Lake.

Such a pretty town with so many lovely houses and building. Lovely history to the place. Great vibe in the town centre with cafes and pubs and community. Lots to see and do with all the sinkholes, lakes and proximity to Coonawarra and Port MacDonell beaches

For a big town it lacked a choice of restaurants, we arrived quite late as travelling and nothing was open in town. Actually felt like a ghost town.
Good place to stop if travelling ocean road but only need one night there!
The Barns where we stayed had a good restaurant that was still open but is 20 min drive from town centre.

Beautiful historic town with famous landmarks, such as the volcanic crater lake (Blue Lake) and the Umpherston Sinkhole and sunken gardens. Very walkable town with lots of boutique shops, restaurants and coffee houses.

Much to see and do within a 100km radius of the city.
Much to see and do within a 100km radius of the city. It is a pity the the Princess Margaret Rose Cave is currently shut and there is no indication about a reopening date. The expected date (End of 2023) is now history. Direction signs should carry this information. Naracoorte Caves excellent. Get directions to "Hells Hole" and go for a short walk, Be amazed! Visitor centre is very helpful. If you are reasonably fit climb Mt Schank and walk the rim of an dormant volcano.

Despite the amazing natural attractions (especially the Blue Lake which is resplendent at this time of year), Mount Gambier seems to be revelling in past glories and much of the tourist infrastructure appears dated and run-down. Even the 'attractions' sign as you drive into town is peeling and faded...
The hotel has lovely gardens. The gym is well equipped. We had dinner at the Steakhouse which served good local produce. The steak was excellent. They did get the booking wrong, we booked for 6 but told us we had booked for 3. They did manage to find us a table though. The room was very clean and has a large bathroom with proper bath tub and rain shower. Had a very pleasant stay there and would recommend to anyone wanting a bit of lux in Mt Gambier.
The receptionist guy was so rude, unprofessional, undisciplined, he took $150 from me as security bond and promised to refund it after checkout but he never did it, i call him more than 10 times to discuss about the bond but brings so much stupid excuses, me and five families from NSW and Queensland been treated like we are in India and I recommend no one book in presidential hotel
Nothing it was the most disgusting hotel I have yet to stay in
The room was filthy, the carpets disgusting made my feet black. Housekeeping what housekeeping our room had a dirty flannel still left in shower, poo on toilet lid, hair in shower soap holder along with soap scum.
Great hotel, at a good location. Restaurant and bar within the property made it convenient. Walking distance to market and key supermarkets. Nice sized rooms and modern amenities within the rooms. The breakfast, shared kitchen with all its amenities was a bonus.
The room was small and compact and very clean. I liked the location as in proximity to Mount Gambier. I also liked the hotel being on top of a hill with very nice views. I could visit Mt Gambier and walked around Blue Lake. The bed was really comfy.
1. This motel has best location. All tourist spots are nearby.
2. You can Park your car in front of your room and take your luggage easily.
3. Found bed, tables, cupboards, cutlery and other stuff good.
This is an inexpensive hotel but worth the money! They have taken an old building/hotel and modernised it with beautiful bathrooms, good bed and clean carpet. (The floors still creak, but that’s ok. )
Convenient location for Mt Gambier. 2 bed apartments were large and had kitchenette with crockery/utensils etc. Beds were comfortable. Heating/cooling fine. Nice views. Staff were really helpful.
Motel had views across Mount Gambier, close to the blue lake. Restaurant onsite is very good, but not part of the motel and somewhat expensive. Quiet location.
This old hotel has been done up Fantastically. Also we had the Crayfish and my wife had the Duck for dinner it was the best meal we have had in a long time
The location of the motel, being centrally located and ease of access to shops, tourist attractions etc. The rooms were clean and tidy. Plenty of parking.
The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean & tidy. The Hotel is in a very convenient location to shops and transport.
