It's a very pretty town with some nice cafes and restaurants...
It's a very pretty town with some nice cafes and restaurants. The Riverside walk is great with many information boards that detail the history of the area. The kids park by the river in town is really good. Parking is easy, and there are clean public toilets next to the park. Lou's cafe is a highlight! We found everyone very friendly. Lots of really lovely little shops as well as four supermarkets. We went out to a different local café each day, and were never disappointed. Beautiful Hat Head beach is only 30 minutes' drive away:)

Tall timbers caravan park is a little tired but clean and the staff were friendly and suited our overnight stopover. Kempsey is a lovely town with great amenities. We ate at the RSL club overlooking the river the food and service were excellent.

Small cute country town with not much to do but unwind. I was surprised most of the smaller shops don't open on the weekend. Although the supermarket and restaurants were open. We had dinner at the Hong Kong Chinese Kempsey restaurant and breakfast at The Depot Cafe. Both had beautiful fresh and flavoursome meals.LynnAustralia

It is an older style, rather run down motel but it would cost a lot to bring it up to first class and there is a lot of competition in Kempsey. It was clean and the bed linen was fine, which is all you really want in a motel. They charged extra for having my small, cavalier in the room but many people, I’m sure do not take good care of their pets or the room.
