I liked the sports fields where I could do my morning run :). I didn't like the Magpie that kept swooping me as I ran up and down the field :(
The RSL serves great food - we had the roast of the day - fantastic

It's a very pretty town with some nice cafes and restaurants.
The Riverside walk is great with many information boards that detail the history of the area.
The kids park by the river in town is really good. Parking is easy, and there are clean public toilets next to the park.
Lou's cafe is a highlight! We had breakfast, but will also have dinner there next time.

Slim Dusty Center well displayed of Slim Dusty memorabilia.
Slim Dusty Center well displayed of Slim Dusty memorabilia. The Center is very clean and coffee in the coffee shop is excellent to my taste. The Crescent head lookout is stunning and the surf beach is amazing.

We found everyone very friendly.
We found everyone very friendly. Lots of really lovely little shops as well as four supermarkets. We went out to a different local café each day, and were never disappointed. Beautiful Hat Head beach is only 30 minutes' drive away:)

Small cute country town with not much to do but unwind.
Small cute country town with not much to do but unwind. I was surprised most of the smaller shops don't open on the weekend. Although the supermarket and restaurants were open. We had dinner at the Hong Kong Chinese Kempsey restaurant and breakfast at The Depot Cafe. Both had beautiful fresh and flavoursome meals.
The only reasons I chose this motel on the way from Brisbane to Sydney is that it was about half way and it accepted dogs. It is an older style, rather run down motel but it would cost a lot to bring it up to first class and there is a lot of competition in Kempsey.
It was clean and the bed linen was fine, which is all you really want in a motel. They charged extra for having my small, cavalier in the room but many people, I’m sure do not take good care of their pets or the room.
We booked it last minute on our way back to Sydney. The staff called us to arrange check-in as we were going to arrive late. They offered alternatives to accommodate us. The place was nice and clean. The beds were so comfy. There were coffee/tea facilities even better than major hotels we visited before. There are McDonald's, KFC, Big W and Woolworths next door which is so convenient.
Definitely, a good choice for our last minute stay.
Being the cheapest motel in Kempsey we didn't have high expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised. Yes the building is very old but rooms have been almost totally renovated. Very comfy bed with beautiful crisp cotton bedding. very quiet - just what we needed to break our journey without breaking the bank. would stay again next trip.
Although it wasn’t the hotel’s fault, the bathroom floor was wet after someone had showered and, as an older person I felt it was a safety hazard. Also, since people of all ages are using the shower and toilet, the installation of grab rails built to Australian standards, would be a thoughtful addition.
Good, budget option for travelling up the NSW mid-coast. Older motel but very well maintained and very clean & quiet. We arrived late and Daniel gave us crystal clear instructions on check-in and how to get to our room in the dark.
Easy checkin and well located for an overnight rest stop. Short drive to Kempsey township, the RSL meals were great (thanks for the recommendation). Clean and comfortable family room, we all slept very well.
It was a lovely place to stay. There were 4 of us and it was very comfortable. Owners were helpful and friendly. Would recommend it.
So much better than an hotel. Really loved it. Great job guys!!!😀😀
I liked the quiet location and friendly people that I met at the park. I liked it's proximity to Kempsey and crescent heads. I also loved the towels, linens and blankets that were provided.
We enjoyed our overnight stay at Motel Kempsey. It was clean, comfortable and warm on a chilly night and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We will stay there again.
