The Botanical gardens is a treat especially with its link to the Mlebourne Botanical Gardens and its root stock from Riddells Creek north of Melbourne. Hamilton is a lovely place to visit not too far from the coast (Portland/Warrnambool) and the Grampians. Don't forget to visit the Lemon Myrtle Cafe for some great home cooking as everything is prepared on site even the sausage rolls. Lots of parking in the main street and behind the shops. A trip to the Lake is well worth the visit. At the right time Platypus have been spotted at the creek.

We did not stay there.
Motel was terrible
We did not stay there. Didn't matter we paid...put it down to experience. Booking.com should remove it from their listing. We have relied on places listed there but Caledonian was a complete and utter disappointment

We only needed a place to lay our heads for the night to break a long trip. I have spent a lot of time visiting Hamilton over the years. It is an attractive rural centre with all the needed facilities.

Hamilton is lovely, with many places to go and see.
Hamilton is lovely, with many places to go and see. We went to the Hamilton Central for an evening meal. Great steaks and the choices were varied. Had a beautiful lunch at the Hamilton Hamper - coffees and sandwiches were very enjoyable. Everywhere we shopped the staff were friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for. We enjoyed ourselves.
The two big features of the Comfort Inn at Hamilton are the location and the restaurant. The location is great, with the motel being one block away from the town's main shopping precinct and directly opposite the beautiful botanical gardens.
The restaurant is excellent, with generous servings of well-priced, delicious meals and a great range of wine on offer, also at reasonable prices. The staff are also very nice and very competent, and you know you are in capable hands.
They’ve got everything you need for the cooking. Literally everything! And not to mention other thoughtful facilities they provide. Some luxury 5 stars hotel could not even do their job.
Room is nice and tidy.
Spending a fun cozy and pleasant night there was totally worth it. Thank you and appreciate their kind and friendly team too xoxo
A very comfortable and well equipped unit. The bathroom was spacious and had the best lighting we have seen in any motel or hotel. The toilet was completely separate. An added bonus were the two comfortable armchairs. Don't judge a book by its cover: the room is much better than the external appearance of the motel would suggest.
The location was quiet, away from main streets of Hamilton. The interiors were freshly renovated. Staff greeted and welcomed us on arrival. Having two rooms to separate the guests was a treat. It was nice to have provision of bar fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, plates, cutlery, even fly spray!!
The location was fabulous. Very quiet and peaceful. The room was well equipped. The gardens were lovely. Our hosts were very helpful with information on where to go, not only in Hamilton and surrounds but also gave us some useful tips about what we should see on the next leg of our journey.
This was the cleanest and tidiest accommodation I have stayed in in Hamilton. Absolutely perfect location, not too far out of town, beautiful location and nice and quite. The hosts are amazing, and their dog is gorgeous. Highly recommend.
Room was clean and very well set out, had all necessities. Layout of hotel was good - easy access to the pool from every room. Room was very good size - plenty of space. Plenty of room to park a car and trailer (we tow a race car).
Plenty of parking space, very clean renovated room. Easy to find along the Hamilton to Ballarat road near the edge of town. Lots of outside tables and chairs for guests.
