Small country town pop 1600, adequate amenities, (IGA, Thai, great bakery, etc). Hospital and medical facilities 'more than expected'. Easy reach to Somerset Dam, Wivenhoe Dam, Mt Glorious, Esk National Park, Landsbourne National Park, etc. Locals friendly and helpful. Also, small antique shop & museum (not visited by us)

The caravan and motels facilities were excellent and having access to the camp kitchen from the motel makes for an easy trip. Their firepit is a gorgeous place to meet other travellers. The park is central to the town area and provides easy access to the BVRT. Perfect!

Esk is a quiet town that has everything you need, very friendly locals and great food choices. Great location to stay and bike ride the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail from both directions. Do yourself a favour and experience riding or walking the trail enjoying nature, just stunning 🤩

A 'typical' Queensland country town, although it has grown significantly in size since I last visited some years back. Lovely cafes, antiques/ bric-a-brac shopping in a beautiful natural setting. All mod cons available if that's what you want, but authentic country experiences and camping also available. Wonderful half and full day trips to many settings of natural beauty or historic importance, with larger towns not too far distant by car. Wonderful locations within and around Esk, or further afield if you're a train buff, into birding, hiking, biking or local history. Ample choice of accommodations from hotel, B&B to caravan park and camping. The locals were very welcoming, friendly, helpful and accommodating. I had a delicious and too large dinner at the Grand Hotel, which catered happily for my vegetarian+GF+LF needs. Highly recommend visiting this township in the Somerset region, if only on a day trip. However, I'm sure you'll find plenty to draw you back for future, more prolonged investigations!

Esk Grand Hotel was well worth visiting and offered great value meals. The service was excellent, and I enjoyed eating in the outdoor area of the hotel where I got to watch the sun go down behind the mountains. I would go back and eat here. My mother also visited Angie's Cafe for a coffee and had good things to say about the place and the coffee.
