Box Hill is a very lively suburb with dozens and dozens of Asian restaurants to enjoy, which we did, and were not disappointed.
The train station is in the CBD enabling the rapid transit METRO Trains to get you to outer suburbs or to the city of Melbourne. Trams and buses run regularly and will also get you around Box Hill and other areas.
We only stayed for two days and nights but managed a day trip further out to the east (30 minutes) for a hike thru' the beautiful forests there.
Love Box Hill.

The hotel is very clean. The staff very helpfull. The roof top swimming pool was lovely and had good views of the city. There is a good gym, enough weights for a good workout. The tram line is outside the hotel that brings you straight into the city, around 40 minutes to city centre and train station just around the corner.

Be aware, you will be staying in a share accommodation!
Be aware, you will be staying in a share accommodation! This place has about 6 rooms. I stayed with my daughter, my brother, and his son, and we were shocked to realise we didn't have the 'entire house' to ourselves as advertised. It smells of cigarettes the second you walk in. My bed was dirty with dead bugs. There were people smoking right outside my bedroom window at night. I do not recommend staying here at all!

We were there for a reunion.
We were there for a reunion. We didn't spend a lot of time around otherwise. I'm sure there are better accommodation places if we are there again. Box hill seems to be quite a bustling city. We ate at the RSL which is very good.

Mont Albert is the suburb between Box Hill & Balwyn.
Mont Albert is the suburb between Box Hill & Balwyn. The area is very convenient, particularly if you know it. Mont Albert/Box Hill & Balwyn are positioned to the eastern side of Melbourne, known for great restaurants, a large shopping centre (Whitehorse Plaza) and a residential area that ranges from middle-class to more affluent. Public transport options are great. Trams go regularly along the main street (Maroondah Hwy) into & around Melbourne's CBD (Central Business District), a large network of buses go into the CBD and outer suburbs plus a major train station (Box Hill). Private transport options like taxis operate widely as well as most ride share apps (Uber, carshare...). The area is also well known as being one of Melbourne's only 'dry' areas, meaning - there are no hotels (pubs)! There are pubs in the suburbs around here and takeaway purchases of alcohol can be made from bottle shops, which are also attached to many supermarkets & alcohol is also served in most restaurants. Box Hill also has a major hospital which operates a 24/7 Accident & Emergency department, supported by an Ambulance service. A 24/7 police station is also located in Box Hill. The skyline of Box Hill has changed significantly over the past 10 years with the addition of high-rise mixed-use commercial, retail & residential buildings. That expansion is on-going.
Location: short walking distance to Tram Station and Train Station. You can indulge in shopping and dining, especially in Chinese, Cantonese and Asian Cuisine. Plus you can get most of the stuff at Box Hill Central. A lively place.
The service apartment got most of the items you need. Spacious and full of facilities (including a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym). There is also indoor parking in the building for a minimum fee. Front desk is friendly and efficient.
Great place to stay, near the Box Hill Park and near the hospital (I had an appointment there) as well as close to town, trains and trams.
Lovely apartment. Room and bed is comfortable and everything you need including crockery and cutlery, microwave and top cooker, plus everything works well.
Staff are friendly and helpful and I asked for a room at the end of the corridor and received that.
Overall I was very pleased at staying at City Edge hotel and apartments.
Closest to our Melbourne family. Beautiful suburb, right on the tram line and close to the railway. A lovely building, both inside and out.
Reception were marvelous, every one of them friendly and obliging. When I couldn't access our boarding passes on my phone at the last minute, just as the taxi arrived, they looked them up on the internet and rapidly printed off copies. Amazing!
The location is close to Aldi supermarket and also not very far from Box Hill Station. There is also public parking near the station for whole day at reasonable charge. The studio is generous in space and there is secure undercover parking at the rear of the studio. The host has provided clear instructions for staying at this studio.
Location excellent with great cafe directly across the road for breakfast and lunches. Easy walking distance to Box Hill central area. Clean and spacious queen suite and comfortable bed. Best thing about this property is the mock-Tudor architecture and beautiful climbing plants in the interior courtyard.
Decent size room for a family of four, great shower head, comfortable beds, good security system (door lock and in-room safe deposit box), decent size swimming pool (heated pool is a bonus).
Walking distance to box hill shopping centre, very convenient.
The beds were very comfy. The water pressure was good. Oven and stove worked well. There were some basic utensils. The contact lay was helpful. Parking was easy to access. Airconditioning worked well in the lounge room.
It is conveniently located next to Box Hill Central with lots of food and groceries options. The apartment is pretty new and clean too, has everything we need washing machine, dryer, smart tv, dishwasher etc.
Reception staff were friendly & helpful. I was upgraded from a one bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom corner suite with views of Melbourne & Doncaster. Skyone is new & well designed & the lap pool was heated.
Location is excellent; easy walk to Box Hill for shopping & trains. Plenty of basics provided, including tea, coffee pods, laundry needs, toilet paper, so no need to purchase more.
The location, how quite and peaceful the studio is and how very clean how wonderful Sandra and Brett the owners were at accommodation use thank you both so very much
Very close to Box Hill Central and all amenities. Parking very close to villa. Villa is spacious. Jojo responded very quickly to phone call, extremely helpful.
