Kaka Point apartments was an exceptional property. It was like a model home. Beautifully furnished, clean, modern bathroom, plenty of tea and coffee, towels etc. The view from the apartment was stunning. We watched a sea lion on the beach one evening. We kept the curtains open at night so we could see the nighttime sky. It was just a short walk down to the beach. Wish we had stayed longer. Everything was perfect and even better than that.

A rural bed and breakfast. Two rooms with a shared great room. Very clean and neat. Host and hostess wonderful people who shared with us local locations to visit during our stay. Breakfast was excellent. Parking more than adequate.

Decent room for price paid for 1 night. Bed on older side but slept well, quiet, and reasonably clean. Manager was also barkeep for the restaurant so bought a cold beer to take to my room.

A lovely beach with a cafe/shop/restaurant so ideal for families. Easy to reach nugget point from there. Bear in mind it’s at the eastern end of the Catlins so if you want to explore places further west, eg Curio Bay, you will have quite a drive. On the other hand Balclutha is only a 15 min drive which is handy for stores and food shopping.

Beautiful location and very close to Nugget Point Lighthouse which is a must see for all travellers. Would have liked to stay longer and try swimming. The beaches looked very inviting. Clifftop views around the lighthouse are breathtaking

Lovely location, close to Nugget point. The local cafe was lovely. No petrol stations, nowhere to get breakfast you have to travel to balclutha or Owaka for breakfast if you don’t self cater. Great place to locate yourself while in the catlins

Really peaceful place - great accommodation, host, garden and beach view - thoroughly recommended- if you’re on a road trip take 2 or 3 days to unwind here - take food to cook if going on a Sun or Mon as restaurant in town currently shut then- we thought that would bother us but with a good kitchenette and views to die for from the dining table and the outside furniture we were VERY happy staying ‘home’

A lovely spacious apartment. Very clean and comfortable with amazing views. A pub restaurant within a couple of minutes walk but not open on a Monday. We were there on a Monday!! Loved every detail from the easy self-check-in and fresh fruit in the fridge. Also just a short drive to Nugget Point Lighthouse with great chances of spotting wildlife along the way.
